Tim Anderson asked if Heet(Gas-line antifreeze & water remover) can be used as fuel in Flat Cat Gear's ISO-Clean 2.0 Stove so in this video I'll try to find out.

In this video I do my first boil test on the ISO-Clean 2.0 Isopropyl Alcohol Stove using 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. I've done tests Flat Cat Gear before one being the prototype of this stove. You can use the following links if you'ld like to watch those videos.

Thank you, Tim, for the question,
And as always thank you for watching my video,
Hiram

On the ISO-Clean stove, the pot stand is 0.5" and on the Lynx denatured alcohol stove the gap is 0.8". The smaller gap reduces the burn rate. Additionally, the carbon felt brings the fuel closer to the flame increasing the burn rate. Keep in mind that the ISO-Clean was not designed to burn both fuels, but it is nice to know that it works! Best regards - Jon

wow, nice add by modeltrainstuffDOTcom before your video. First time I have ever seen a Youtube advertisement video I liked so much... I watched all 3 minutes...
Great point about the water consideration in fuel and great test! wow HEAT has a clean blue flame that is nice! Is it fuel difference or stove type for the different biol tests? Anyways I am happy to get some time to relax and catch your videos my friend! Great vid!

Hiram, what about compaing the boil times using 70% and 50% to the time of the 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, and isn't the red labeled HEET contain Isopropyl ? Might make for a good test

I usually get a new pair every summer.

Sharpshooter: I grew up in Kentucky about 60 miles south of Richmond. I have not tried it myself but have hears that ISO-HEET burns badly and messy.

Hiram: 20 ml is 2/3 of an OZ instead of 3/4. I was surprised the boil time was so slow. I was expecting the boil time to be 7:30 or less

Out of curiosity, can you store the Yellow Heet in plastic squeeze bottles with a twist spout (so it's easy to add fuel to a trangia in mid flight)? Or will the plastic squeeze bottle spontaneously explode or burst into flames if you put Heet in it?
