Media goes into ‘full meltdown mode’ following Trump’s Iowa victory

Sky News host James Morrow says the media went into “full meltdown mode” after US Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump won the Republican Iowa caucus.

“Big win for Trump in Iowa, and of course, the media went into full meltdown mode,” Mr Morrow said.

“Check out MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow explaining why viewers should be spared the horror of having to hear Trump.”

Earlier this week, Donald Trump took first place in Iowa’s caucuses, beating his opponents Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley.

Mr Trump made a victory speech shortly after the Republican Iowa caucus, but MSNBC refused to air it, saying the decision is “not out of spite” as there is a cost to the news organisation for “knowingly broadcasting untrue things”.
