I found a lightly used 2013 NC700X DCT (6, 500 miles) in Tucson in February 2020, just before COVID hit. I'm in Seattle, so caught a last-minute flight, carried on my helmet, Aerostitch jacket and pants, and met the owner (a retired schoolteacher from Missouri) at the airport, rode it around the parking lot, liked it, paid him $3, 500 and spent the next four days riding back to Seattle up through California and Oregon, barely missing a big snowstorm in the Siskiyous on I-5. I brought Acerbis handguards, and the previous owner had fitted factory luggage including the top case, heated grips, 12v outlet in the frunk, and a full skidplate, along with a fresh service and new Shinko 705 tires. He said I'd be endlessly entertained by the transmission - so true - and I agree with everything you've said, though you have some new and improved features over the 2013. Same basic bike, a highly functional and well-thought out motorcycle with the best of 'scooter-think' and a relaxed automotive style that suits me well. I've seen several tanks of 70mpg, and it's nicely 'just enough'. It's also great for riding forest roads (with the skidplate) though nothing too technical, but it's surprising how that opens up your ridable options for exploring. An under-appreciated but excellent product.

Love the Review. I have a 2023 DCT. The only thing this bike is really missing is cruise control. My top 5 likes are: 1. The DCT, 2. MPG (I average 68-70mpg), 3. The Frunk, 4. Ergonomics (fits me well) 5. Good looking bike. My wish list for a future model: 1. Put the cruise control from the Rebel 1100 on it, 2. Put the TFT display from the Hornet on it, 3. A slightly softer seat please. As a 56 year old rider I love this bike. I also have a Can Am Spyder for two-up riding and wish it had full auto mode (you have to up shift them).

As a 2018 NC owner I would suspect that the new models seat is an improvement as it would be very hard to make it any worse. I don't know what Honda was thinking by taking so long to do this.
I wish that I had bought the DCT version but have no other regrets and have had no problems over the 4 years of ownership.

Daniel - You'll be happy to know that I took procession of my 2022 Honda 750X (DCT) yesterday (10/14) as it FINALLY arrived - I get to ride it for one week & then its going on the shelf (so to speak) as I have a hernia operation scheduled for the 21st of October & will thus be off of it for awhile - but for now its here & I'm ridin - zoom - zoom 🙂

If insurers will allow me to continue riding at 78, the NC750x (or it's rumoured 850 cc replacement) may well be my machine of choice. There's not much point is spending the pension on horsepower that you can very rarely use on public roads and the fuel consumption is very good. Your comparison of the instrument display on the two bikes was very clear and useful.

I have no doubt at all that these bikes will become a highly sort after machine in the future..ease of maintenance stylish looks Honda renound reliability and 75-80 miles per imperial gallon..fantastic bikes.

I owned a 2021 model for six months before deciding to replace it. Everything you say is true and I thought I had found my perfect all round motorcycle. Sadly, mine had quality issues and I don't think I was the only one, plus Honda's customer service sucks. I would advise you pay close attention to the exhaust silencer and the paintwork. After six months large sections of paint was flaking off the silencer and there was extensive rust on the welds. The paint on the plastic side panels was also rubbing off and it seemed very soft. I should add I take a great deal of care over my bikes and avoid riding in the rain, so when Honda claimed it was all my fault, I decided to end my over 40year relationship with them. I should also add that this was the first Honda I have ever owned that broke down and had to be recovered.

I like this bike being the fuel tank design under the seat. Looks pretty clean design just like Yamaha FJR.

Thanks so much for this review, very informative. I own a 2017 Honda CB500X and I'm thinking of upgrading it to NC750X DCT. This video was helpful. Congrats from Portugal 👍🙂🇵🇹

Great & informative video - I am 75 (yoa) & ride a Yamaha FJR which in the past year has become somewhat heavy to me (5'7" & 150 lbs) & thus I have decided to downsize - about 5 years ago I had a another FJR & also a 2012 NC 700X which I absolutely loved & thus I'm downsizing back to the NC - my local Honda dealer happens to have a 2022 (red) NC 750X DCT arriving on or about August 31st (one month) & I am 1st in line for it - to say I'm excited would be an understatement as I'm already putting together a list of some aftermarket goodies I want - again I enjoyed your video & am going to subscribe to your channel - PS - I live in Florida & back in September of 2018 I took the 2012 NC 700X I had out to California & back doing over 9, 200 miles in 28 days & going through 18 different states with never a single problem - it is a GREAT little bike.
