I had been using the Evoluant Vertical mouse for CAD (need middle mouse button). While the vertical position was great for CAD work, it sucked for gaming. I just purchased this Elecom from Amazon. I used to use a trackball back in the 90's and only stopped using it after it broke and replacements were not made any more. Thanks for the review.

I have been a trackball fan for more years than I care to recall. I also had an MS trackball. I agree, it was a top-notch product and the best in its class. Used it until the bearings wore down. Use a Kensington model at the moment. This Elecom model you review here looks most tempting. And the price looks good too.

So glad I found this. My Logitech that I have had since 2007 is starting to really have issues. I work in cad a lot and have been on this mouse for over a decade. May have to give this a go!

Appreciate the review! I've been using a Logitech MarbleMouse since they were actually somewhat new - it's just time to change things up. :) -- One thing I would offer as a suggestion, I use poster putty to secure my trackball to my desk at work. As such, my trackball never moves - the weight of it is totally irrelevant once secured. That might help here!

It's now been a few years. Gameball exists and Ploopy has basically recreated the MS Trackball Explorer with updated guts. You should give them a try.

Great videos! I think you've sold me on giving this a whirl, I've been using trackballs for 8 years (when I got my first Logitech M570), they have a newer model that just came out called the MX ERGO that's right at 90-100$USD that I was very much considering but the one drawback I've always had with the M570 is that it's quite small for my hand, in fact I found your video while looking for a comparison between the sizes.

Thanks for great reviews. Have you compared this to thumb trackballs and whats you take on that? I feel that the thumb trackballs might be easier for gaming as you finger placement is more similar to a traditional mouse? Was a while since I last used a non thumb trackball though so I've not compared myself in a long time.

Im surprised you miss the scroll ring, I used to like it but found that its grown faulty on mine and im loving this thumb scroll wheel

Thanks for the review I bought all the others and tried them out and they failed to muster in one function or another. I am trying to learn how to program functions not easy but doable. This is a great device it would really take off when people learn about it. Please do more videos on programing different functions.

Question 1: I note that the left-click button is right under the scroll wheel. Is it a tight fit?

Question 2: Have you had any problems using this with the latest version of Windows 10?
With my current mouse ("Roccat Kone", a gaming mouse with a more traditional mouse design), the customization software supposedly worked with Windows 8, but it refuses to work on Windows 10.

Are you finding the flying scroll is consistent in its activation? If so, could you do a video on this feature? Some of us cannot get the flying scroll to reliably activate. It's either very non-intuitive, or buggy as hell.

Does the software let you program buttons and programs per program? Thats one thing I love about the Kensington.

Hi sir great review there, between the Kensington Expert and this new Elecom, which one do you prefer? Their prices are pretty close to each other so I think you may shoot a detailed comparison if possible? (It will certainly help me greatly in choosing my trackball mouse for the next year).
Oh anh my the first one is Kensington Orbit, it has The smoothest scroll wheel ever.
