A guy I knew was 30 years ago a policeman with dog in Belgium. He had a beautiful Goenendaeler male back then. He told me this story that happened. There was a burglary alarm going off in a supermarket. His colleagues had searched the place and found nothing. But the manager of the store also arrives and says he never had a false alarm and somebody must be in there. So they all get out off the supermarket and he brings his dog, lights go out and they wait together inside. He sees his dog hears something and released the dog with the casual order Go catch them boy. The dog went looking running through the isles of the store and he heard him attacking and a man screaming in terror. He found it so amusing the burglar hearing but the nails on the floor coming towards him but seeing nothing with that totally black dog in the darkness until it attacked him. He was like 30 seconds behind and the guy was arrested.
I live like 500 meters from where the Tervueren was bred in Tervuren. We always had Tervueren Shepherds when I was young as did my grandfather and father. They look very similar, Groenendaal is maybe 10 km from here. Laken and Mechelen from the Malinois are within 20km. I live so near where all these Belgian shepherds varieties got bred from what dogs survived WW1. They were used for many military tasks when my country was fighting the entire war behind our last river.

Beautiful dog! We just rescued one looks like a puppy we are trying to age it. Do you remember what age your dogs adult teeth came in? I’m thinking the little guy we rescued is about 4.5 months old maybe 5. His adult teeth look like the my just came in but not fully yet

whats your country? Im looking to import a Groenendael and currently looking into ones that gets imported from Polish or Czech Republic. do you have any recommendations on to where I might easily find the best pure bred ones?
