The fog of special military operations makes it hard to know what is really going on

Every chapter of Russian history starts with- "And then things got worse."

Select terminology correctly: there is no Ukrainians “attacking”, this cannot be the case, not even if Ukrainians siege Moscow. This would be like saying “the Soviets attacked the Nazis back then”. When defending, you are legitimate to fight back your opponent in any means; counter attacking the enemy has no borders; you can attack wherever you thinks it fits you.

These little green men just picked up some kit at an army surplus store. Its likely they are local concerned citizens of Belgorod who want independence after Russia bombed them so often.

Raids are a minor feature of wars. Raids are useful for propaganda, providing realistic action for trained but otherwise languishing troops, distracting the enemy, intelligence gathering, and sabotage. But they are rarely decisive. Think Dieppe 1942, Cuba 1961.
The present raid has the propaganda value of keeping up civilian morale while the logistics build-up for the next Ukrainian offensive continues.

The same “expert” has been wrong on every aspect of this war, I follow him just to see how wrong he can be. By the way, there’s no way Russian nationals came up with that kind of equipment from inside of Russia and nobody knew.

Yes, lets see how a pilot that has a few months training flying an F16 fairs against a pilot who has YEARS of experience flying a MiG.
