i don't feel a shred of sadness for the dad in this situation. he lost his wife and that's tragic. but to look at their baby, the last example of her on this earth and decides it's his fault. a tiny innocent baby who never knew his mothers life and love. yeah, it's a slow karma train for that one but it pulled into the station. and then, then the boiler exploded

In the update of story one when OP’s father said that if OP wasn’t born his wife would still be alive. OP should have asked his father if his mother knew how her husband treated her son his entire life after her death, would she still love the abusive father of her child.

I freaking HATE so-called "parents" who blame their kids for child birth related deaths!! It's unfair and UNFOUNDED!!! Besides, that asshole got what he deserved for basically trying to deceive his new wife. OP had every right to tell the truth to her because NO relationship that's based on a lie is a real relationship. Even the great Doctor Phil says that it's unhealthy and an overall bad idea to live a lie!

The father didn't lose his new wife because op told her what happened. The father lost her because not only has he been lying to her, but he's still currently a sh!tty dad. It wasn't like he was a bad dad for a few years and their relationship is strained, it's a horrible act he's still committing.

Yeah, if anyone, he should blame himself for making the decision to conceive a child that ended up killing his wife down the line. Not the innocent blameless child that didn’t have any choice of being born. Wow, what a POS! He never deserved OP or his mother. She would be absolutely horrified if she knew how he reacted to her death. OPs dad doesn't deserve happiness for what he did to a CHILD. OP didn't ask to be born, his parents made that decision. I'm glad OP warned his father's (stbx) wife. It's clear based on how he tried to downplay his actions that he KNEW he was wrong. Why else lie to his new wife? I hope he thinks long and hard about about his actions and comes to regret what he lost.
