I just want to say thank you for these videos. Someone like me, who loves making music and has no money really appreciates these videos and all the hard work and HONEST reviews.

You were a BIG help. I watch these YouTube reviews and they skip some details assuming we're all semi-pros and know what comes next. I thank you for explaining the XLR inputs as well as what actually needs to go to the computer USB wise and their corresponding adapters. For my current purposes this set up with the BM800 mic will get me where I need to go for now reducing latency issues along with the back ground noise I was experiencing with my SAMSON C01U usb mic, thanks.

Also, the investment won't break me so I can take care of this immediately.

This was perfect. You covered literally everything I wanted to know and in a simple straight forward way. Thanks!

02:51 That's what I wanted to hear, probably goin with this one. Recording guitar with a cheap mic is frustrating as hell.

Just a quick addition - definitely plug your guitar to the instrument input, not the combo input - that one is prepared for mic and line signals. Guitars output very quiet signal and putting them through a line input causes an impedance mismatch. Basically, the interface is trying to "pull current" from the guitar - that'd be fine for a big synthesiser which has a powerful output, but not so good for a guitar which has passive pickups and therefore can only output so much. Long story short, with the combo input through a TRS jack you'll lose some of the highs. Using the instrument input solves the issue.

Looks good! You know whats great about this! It doesn't need a Power adapter for the Phantom... Just one USB connection is enough!

This is great this video has helped me confirm the purchase with this item I’m a starting out artist build a at home studio to record and I had a concern for the phantom power, because the akg p120 mic I bought has just that and now I can start calmly I’m starting with garage band for awhile til I learn the ropes of it after that sometime down the line I’ll get Logic Pro but I know some artist who only use garage band to record everything so I really appreciate this review and I can tell you were honest ! Big thing bout some of these reviews fr !

You have absolutely no clue how many times I have watched this video. This was insanely helpful in helping me make a decision investing in an audio interface for my home studio. Your channel has been nothing but help to me for the last year.

Normally I have to click around through several videos to get a run-through of every feature, plus some knowledgeable opinion about how it compares to similar items. But you covered it all, really quickly, and in an easy-to-understand way. Thanks!!!

Three thoughts:

First, that's a decent step up from using the little USB sound card.

Second, you really tear on the guitar! That was awesome.

And third, the Xenyx preamps are decent for a budget system. Their Midas preamps in their UMC series are slightly more expensive and a step up from that. But for those that care, according to Behringer, their UMC series isn't class compliant.

Mate hi from UK. Your videos are so informative and they have been ridiculously helpful I’m setting up my whole home studio based on your content and I think you’re brilliant at your job. Well done and thanks 👍

Recently upgraded from UM2 to the UMC204 is a more sophisticated build I still like the UMC2 and it's bottle-top keeping it in mothballs in case the Borg attack.

Would recommend the UM2 for anyone looking for a first AI.
