I've always felt kinda uneasy about sending random signals out into space. It's like diving into the open ocean and announcing to every creature that you're there. Sure, you'll probably find a lot of fish (that wouldn't be a threat, like microbes) but you could also meet an apex predator like the Orca. Even if the Orca doesn't want to harm you, you'll still be completely at it's mercy.

I guess we don't have to worry about it yet, and probably not for many many generations, but if we ever find life, let alone intelligent life, the idea that we've been broadcasting our location to everyone for so long becomes kinda terrifying.
