Stanislov Petrikov was a man in Russia during the Cold War. He was monitoring the Russian radar system when he noticed nuclear missiles incoming from the USA. Unlike soldiers at the time, he was a volunteer and had not been trained to blindly follow orders. Stanislov also felt as if the computer was broken. If he was wrong, Russia would be destroyed and ignite a nuclear war. An engineer was called in and the computer was broken. He trusted his gut and saved the world. What a hero.
