Check it out from Trail Maters perspective here.

The Jeep driver knew enough to know not to make the situation worse for himself, AND he left cones out to give warning to anyone coming down the trail who might not immediately see the winch line?

My kinda dude right there.

When Matt and Rory are working together I believe there are no better!!! Their combined experience is priceless and entertaining 😃

Matt’s statement at 18:24, “So I welded half of it and Rory welded half of it and the reason we did that so when it brakes we won’t know who to blame and we both will be blameless!” 😂

Matt brings out the best in people. A great example of manhood and adulthood. Hard work and friendliness.

Looking through many comments, I'm impressed by how classy the channel is. No one mentioned Matt's statement "Rory is going to take that buggy, up the backdoor." Well done!

That Jeep owner really prepared his post-recovery speech haha!

The plant you saw at the end is actually a Chaparral Yucca. Fun fact about those plants, once they bloom (grow that big stalk that you see on the plant) and flower, the plant then dies. When they bloom, they can grow 6 inches in a single day.

Matt, this is my back yard! Those antenna towers in the background house my repeater and several other amateur (HAM) and commercial repeaters @5300' above sea level. that fire road is controlled by US forest service and only people with "business" on Sunset Ridge should be on it with motorized vehicles.
We actually had a "repeater service" crew drive into that very same ditch, well after dark. We made a couple calls and "So-Cal Offroad and Recovery" from facebook got us out of that ditch with a 2020 Toyota 4Runner named Booger within a couple hours of our call!
They are off-road enthusiasts that recover folks for free, they are highly capable, well versed and practiced in some of the incredibly rugged and dangerous places in So-Cal (that was nowhere near the worst of our areas).

It was fun seeing you guys in this neigborhood but it was a long way to go for a simple "drag-out" recovery in what we see as a Hiking and garden spot above La Verne and Claremont
I'm glad it wasn't a wasted trip since you got to help Caitlans Dad and play in Johnson valley without the ridiculous crowds!

Y’all really need shirts specifically for the rescued. Maybe on the sleeve it says “Rescued” or “Recovered “. Something to differentiate a store bought vs a recovery. Just my 2 cents worth.

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. These are some of the absolute finest YouTube videos to be had. And having both recovery teams, the best in the business; in the same video, priceless!

That jeep customer obviously wanted you to drive all the way down to so California because I've actually done a recovery in that same spot. We have lot's of capable rigs in the area who are in socaloffroadrecovery groups who would jump at a chance to wheel and recover on a road closed to general public. When I did the recovery it was a clear night and beautiful out with the city lights. Glad you guys enjoyed

I've gotta admit it's nice to see you in So Cal, Matt! Aren't our mountains and views beautiful? It's great to hear you give our state nice compliments as we usually get a lot of hate from those who don't live here. And you made a side trip to the Mojave Desert, my hometown!

There's a right way and a wrong way to fall and Matt did it the right way. He rolled out of his fall. He's the Fall Guy!💥🤩💥

I said this is Rory's video of the great time when the two of you get together on a recovery! I also want to say, in my opinion of course, that a mark of true professionals can listen to others idea's and use them rather than thinking their own way is the only way to do something. Both of y'all have that ability. Awesome recoveries by awesome groups. Thanks for sharing

Very good to see you and Rory working together. Even Sean was there. Each of you have your own way of doing things and that's good. Putting them together is fantastic. Thanks for the video.

I am a 20 year old female weldor from Socal and found out about you guys because my grandparents love watching your videos. They put me onto yall because I have a Jeep and work on tow equipment.. and now I'm obsessed with watching these and watching your team go abouts how to "perform" your rescues. Great job team. Would kill to be part of something like this!
