I am black and from Europe, and I’ve always wondered how it is for black van lifers in regards to the police, especially how hostile American cops are known to be towards black Americans. It’s something I have never seen any other black van lifers I’ve come across, cover at all. Would be great if you did a full segment discussing your experiences ❤️

I think back to my younger, wilder days, when I was actually doing some shady ish, and knowing I was never once even questioned about anything. I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

Reason 1 is why im so reluctant to buy and build a van/bus i like the idea of a van better cause you can make it look like no-ones living inside when its parked in a lot or whatever but i know even though you reside in there its not considered a home and can be searched at will. I smoke a bunch 🌿Even just traveling through other states can get ya in trouble citys have ordinances that u have to look up see if your good to go through its like ugh . Studios are 1800+ here! A small single family houses in decent neighborhoods start at 5-650k im in the process of moving tryingg to decide small bus or apartment. It’s impossible to find a van/skoolie conversion to rent for a week or two that isnt parked on someone’s property & not able to move ( i get it insurance liability damages etc) i wana see how i do in a short bus for a lil bit

Im glad yall are learning van life! My husband is a trucker and we go on the road a lot. For Van life there is an app that tells all the truck stops that are always open, has cheap showers, and you can park at most places.

I can DEFINITELY relate with the first 🥇 point.
I used to sleep in a 95 Camry and after that an 01 Buick Century. I got messed with by cops all the time when sleeping 😴....

.... But since I got my 01 suburban I haven't had those problems. I had a cop drive by, slow down to see no one in the driver's seat and move on. That's the most attention it's gotten.

Another time a cop pulled someone else over by an AutoZone I was parked at and the traffic stop occured less than 4 parking spaces away from me. Backup came with other cars and cops less than 20 feet from me 😬 But they never had a clue I was there 😎

Food for thought while traveling from city to city. Try sleeping at either. Walmart, Target parking lots orbtruck stop parking lots and rest areas

As a van lifer, You can expect 🚓 popo knocking on your door.
In my years of stealth van life I had one knock and learned from my mistake . Don't stay more than a day in the same spot even if you have to move a few blocks or a few miles keep moving unless it is designated for overnight parking.

I built my van via other YouTubers videos.

Services are expensive because the mechanics see you as a traveler by your license plates or amount of gear you have on board. I suggest you buy the service manual for your van it's the same manual the mechanics use to make the repairs and set the repair time. Once a mechanic tried to charge me 3 hours @$175 per hour for a one hour job .
I let him know I have the service manual after he finished the job.
The mechanic reduced my bill by two hours saved $$$ on this one repair.
If you don't know the time to make the repair they will get you every time.
Always ask for their rate per hour before they start. Most mechanics post their rate on the wall.
I have saved thousands with my van service manual and the help of online mechanics.
Also allocate a credit 💳 for fuel ⛽ and service.
Use Costco for your tires because they offer free rotations and air. Because you are traveling more you need to keep your tires rotated. I rotate mine every month.

No, I don't have nor do I want a YouTube channel I appreciate those who do post. I'm stealth and that's the way I want to keep it.
