How to Buy & Build a 5kW Kilowatt Off Grid Solar System

This is our Off-Grid Solar System and the first one we have ever designed & built. We did a lot of the work ourselves to save expenses. The system we wanted would've cost double or triple, had we bought it as a package from a Solar Company/Installer. As such, we farmed out the mounting of the panels and electrical boxes & battery connections to Professionals over a few successive weekends.

Congrats on the Magnum inverter. I have exactly the same inverter and the 2800 watt version and have powered my entire off grid house since 2010. Including during 120 degree Arizona desert summers (the inverters are in a shed with no cooling or fan and have done perfectly). Several times the 4024 inverter has experienced dead shorts on its output (rats eating through wiring) and carries on. However, you have my condolences on the Generac generator. Been there, done that. I have a Kubota generator set up fully automatic. Preparing to add to my system with two MS4024PAE inverters to provide 240 volts. One inverter and some new panels will do the job of the generator. The other inverter will be for our 700 foot deep water well. Haven't decided on new panels yet, your Renogy look interesting. Since I have unlimited real estate the only spec I care about is dollars per watt. Other than that my panels must be manufactured in either Japan, USA, or Europe and have a 10 year or better warranty. Nice system you have. Since I'm an engineer "pretty" has taken a backseat to function and experimentation.

couldnt you combine all panels in parallel and use one charge controller?
