I am sorry Mr. P but sometimes you keep talking just to keep talking but not because you have something to say - no hate. Tesla Model 3 went on sale in 2017 and the updated Highland version went on sale in 2023 and it was still selling like crazy - the same situation with Model Y. This is not a question of a car being outdated. NIO tried to go their own way going for example for the rather vertical screen instead of horizontal which was dumb. NIO was not able to create a space for the front trunk in their cars and I am sure it could be done somehow if the smallest Firefly can have it. NIO made the ET7 without fordable rear seats which is non sense in that category. For how much NIO invests in R&D in tests of autopilot functionalities if it continues to disappoint in comparison with Li Auto, Xpeng or Aito - NIO should be the leader, like what is going on? No glovebox so there can be a queen seat in the car? Another non sense, glovebox is more popular option than queen seating. There have been tests in Europe of Zeekr, NIO, BMW, Porsche and Volkswagen and out of those 5 cars the NIO ET5T was voted as the worst mainly because of NIO autopilot going crazy during a slight rain when other cars had no issues. Somebody at NIO really needs to listen what people need, they need to quit models which are not selling like the ES7 or EC7 and maximize efficiency and cost effectivness. There is so much room for improvement - NIO needs to hire someone who will see this.

NIO needs a strong VP of sales period! There is no excuse when Xpeng sells 7.4k and NIO + Onvo is less than 4k.

Not easy to maintain refresh cycle when you have so many models. Xiaomi, one model 5400. NIO, about a dozen models 3100. New CEO, please.

2024 - around 10000 cars in whole January - NIO!
2025 - 1.01.25 - 12.01.25 - 10000 cars NIO.

NIO sales are like NIO stock all downhill direction. NIO needs a professional sales and marketing director with experience in the car industry. Mr Li is a one man show but definitely not a Steve Jobs or Tim Cook

Do you think onvo has demand issue? I guess there is another reason for this kind of sudden decreased figure. I softly assume they started exporting cars to UAE.

I think NIO management is working with investment house to change the sales and finance report so the price can go down for them to buy more. It is also possible NIO does not execute the production by plan.

I think they should have n2.5 upgrade sooner like start of 2025 for all nio models.

It's good to be factual and honest. Whether it's price of NIO high end models, or lack of freebies, or no overseas sales or the competition has ramped up it's models and cut prices tells us that we have to be careful about investing on NIO stock.
There is a lot of moving parts, and my main reason for sticking with NIO for 2 years was battery swapping.
Unfortunately that model of business was used to sell evs and remains not profitable.
I am frustrated because NIO business is burdened with high cash burn, and while other manufacturers like BYD and Tesla are obviously slashing prices, can NIO compete in a price slashing war?

Battery swapping is much better and cost effective overall versus fast charging.

The power grid you need for battery swapping is less as you charge on off peak hours. Fast charging needs instant power from the grid which is costly and maybe not be available until upgraded which is very costly.

Batteries are needed by the power grid to store during off peak hours. Otherwise power is wasted in the grid if not stoted.

So battery swapping is cost effective versus fast charging.

Other benefits of battery swapping are saves time, battery check and repair, easier to recycle and better for environment etc.

NIO's business model of battery swapping is good. All we need is to sell more and more cars to use them to be cost effective.

NIO cars are pretty boring and NIO houses and swap stations are such a cash drain. Xpeng's product line and super fast charging seems much more appealing. When I first started to invest in Xpeng NIO's stock was higher than Xpeng's but now Xpeng's stock is triple the price of NIO's. I think the market sees that Xpeng may be profitable latter this year while NIO will not be profitable.

Well nobody wants a NIO 2.0 unless they get a discount. Once they update the cars they will want them again. But onvo numbers seem a little light too.

Simple. If most of the Nio cars will be upgraded to nt 2.5 and there's no incentives, why should they buy but wait a bit?

Nio n2.0 was obsolete compared to all current competition products. Nio should have n2.5 quicker upgrade like start of 2025 availability.

These were last years deliveries the first 3 weeks of January. In January 2024, NIO's weekly vehicle insurance registrations in China were as follows:
Week 1 (January 1-7): Approximately 3, 000 units.
CNEVPOST
Week 2 (January 8-14): Approximately 1, 700 units, a decrease of about 43% from the previous week.
CNEVPOST
Week 3 (January 15-21): Approximately 1, 900 units, an increase of about 12% from the prior week.

Bottom line is NIO is a luxury brand and is also very well made. Unfortunately it is very hard to sell luxury brand nowaday when you can buy an equally high quality brand from BYD at half the cost. NIO need to find a way to bring down the price point of the NIO brands by $10K. The good thing about BYD is that they control the downstream and upstream supply chain and this help them to price their product very competitively. Battery cost should be coming down and other components should also be coming down. NIO need to squeeze suppliers so that they can help bring down the price for all NIO models to out compete Tesla and BYD. Buying big item durables such as automobile is subject to heavy price elasticity. Because of so many competitors out there, buyers are influence greatly by price. Either you bring down the price by giving incentives or you bring down the price point by squeezing your suppliers or both.

Just to add, Nio has a fcuked up investor relations, try emailing them and you will get no reply. They are basically telling investors they don't give a shit about investors.
