I was in Nashville for the Short Term Rental Wealth Conference and decided to stay at a Sonder property to see what all the hype is about. Sonder is a big short term rental provider with properties all over the world, so I wanted to see what works for them and how I might be able to incorporate it into my own STR business.

At first glance, the unit looks pretty good and has a nice color scheme. However, it feels a bit empty without any art on the walls, throw pillows, decor. But the process of booking online and using the app is really good, which made the booking experience easy and enjoyable.

I know from experience that furnishing and designing many units in one building can be overwhelming, and expensive. So it's understandable that this building had plain units. My guess is that the cost of the building required some give-and-take with spending money on the furnishing.

Despite this, the guest experience is really good and that was my biggest takeaway on how to improve the guest experience in my own business.
