Max (Kat Dennings), a black-haired and sassy girl, works in a low-end restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. Her colleagues include the short Asian boss Han Lee, the cook Oleg (Jonathan Kite) who loves to tell dirty jokes, and the elderly cashier Earl. The new waitress Caroline (Beth Behrs) is tall and blonde, and looks like a socialite, which is out of place with the restaurant's grade. Max questioned Caroline's identity and accidentally learned that Caroline was a real rich girl in Manhattan. After her father went bankrupt, she fell into working in the store to survive.
