A new camera already? I just bought the V1. I'm not one to go out and buy the new west model, just because it is there, i'm sure some people will, but I suspect the upgrades are minimal and I think you cannot expect too much for a budget camera. It is what it is. For the money it is a great camera. Its no GoPro, but it is a decent camera. Thank you d=for the detailed comparison and especially what to expect in regards to colour profile. This is helpful to those you may be considering upgrading or going out and buying the V2 model. Thank-you for the sample footage this will help many decide on which model they prefer. I'm gonna stick with my V1 for now as i do not see a dramatic upgrade in the V2 model. Albert, as usual, this great video. keep making them as they are informative and helpful to the community. Much appreciated.

Runcam keeps improving the Thumb, at this state this camera is pretty good and lightweight.
The picture is way more pink, hopefully they fix this problem in a future firmware.
For me the V1 camera seems to be more blurry in the background, but with the V2 the camera is darker.
The higher FOV is better with gyroflow as you said.

the 1.8mm lens mod for the v1 could replace this upgrade unless some new feature is introduced. cool to have the choice tho

In terms of color, i think i like the V1 better, looks more realistic. The v2's color is a little redish, as you said. Good job releasing this video so early, great review!

Thank's for the comparison Albert, it was really comforting to hear that not all was better... this as I bought the V1 just a month ago & the narrow field of view have irritated me more & more as I use it, so it pissed me off that they released a V2 so soon (yeah, I know... it's really good that they listen & correct :) .

Bought instead a Caddx Turtle V2 (LS106) lens & replaced the original lens... some slight darker corners in 16:9 (4:3 large amounts), made my own lens profile for Gyroflow & the LS106 lens is perfect, only needs around 10-15% lens correction to get rid of the darker corners & the stabilization works really good. The LS106 lens is also sharper & have better contrast/colors than the original... & the original lens cover & ND filters still fits.

Wider lens tend to have a smaller aperture even in the photography world. Seems counter intuitive but that’s how it is. And the lens is physically smaller compared to the v1 so I’m guessing they pumped up the ISO to compensate. Thanks for this 😎

I gotta say, for the price this little camera gives you pretty good video IMO. For most hobbyists I don't think you can beat it for the price.

Thanks Berty, I was wondering what the difference was between them, honestly I still prefer the image of the Hawkeye X Lite, although I haven't a choice here in Australia....Runcam or nothing.

Great review video. Good comparison to the v1 camera. Where I fly the deer aren't afraid of my 5" drone. So used to people and noise I guess.

so the reason why they called it v2 is because it's a different, second version to the thumb pro, not necessarily the new and improved one that is going to replace the v1.
