In case this wasn't fully clear in the video: probably the biggest weakness of this camera is it has a slightly narrow field of view. For normal use, it's ok, but it doesn't have the Superview-like look that some pilots prefer. But the real problem comes when you try to stabilize it, since stabilization always requires zooming in. You have a lot less flexibility when using gyroflow with this camera than you would if it had a wider lens. But it's still a really solid choice for a lot of people!

FINALLY someone who got this whole FPV-camera concept right. No battery, SD card, good image quality, ND-Filters. The QR codes are also such a bless for a quick workflow - waiting for cams like the in stra 360 go2 to connect is a nightmare. And man... no battery running out within 2 packs or memory getting full after 4 packs like the GO2... it's such a hassle to produce with that cam >.<

For freestyle quads maybe a rugged version of this whould be cool but a 3D print will likely do. Otherwise I feel like they nailed it. Love it! Now they just have to get a few details right like higher bitrate and wider FOV for the next version while we fly this one!

You don't need to pick an ND filter depending on good luck! Use your cell phone and an app like photo light meter. You are old enough to remember how to shoot film so use film photography tools! 😃 Set ISO to 100, Shutter speed to 30 and place ND filters on the phone camera to find the right one looking at the F number. As far as this camera is the "swan song" of the IMX 377, the F number must be 2.8. So pick an ND which at ISO 100 and SS 30 will show F number around 2.8. Easy and for free :)

My normal lens cover came off the very first time I hit something, I spent 20 minutes trying to find it in a field but it’s gone forever! Just a quick warning for those who will be buying the ND filters!
Also of note the SD card can come loose inside the camera as it’s not clipped in place, annoyingly the camera will flash record like normal even though there is no SD card in place.

What I thought was kind of neat that you didn't touch on, was that you can set up camera controls in Betaflight if you wire it to the FC. Mine is suppose to be here today and I can't wait to try it out on my Cinelog35.

You don't necessarily have to solder it to your FC. You can use a connector to connect a tiny 5v voltage regulator IC to the balanced leads of your LiPo and it is done. Plus, you can remove the camera by simply disconnecting that connector.

@Joshua Bardwell, if you're on 3S you can use a buck converter with a 3S balance lead extension cable... just clip one, hook it up to a buck converter and then take that 5V out.

If you need to see a preview of the footage, the thumb can work as a usb webcam when plugged into usb (I use a usb-c to micro-usb cable and an app on my phone), I expect the same can be said about the thumb pro but if someone who owns it could confirm that would be good.

Some feedback from a videographer if you're interested:
- For some reason the bass in your voice was particularly loud/boomy on the first setup of this video. A simple EQ should mostly fix that.
- The reason you want to use a sensor's native ISO is to get the best image quality. Raising the ISO introduces noise and decreases dynamic range. On a bright and sunny day, you're likely going to get zero motion blur as there is so much light that even with the sensor at base/native ISO, the shutter has to compensate greatly, usually around 1/4000th shutter speed for proper exposure. Towards the evening when it starts to get darker outside, you'll start to get motion blur as the shutter comes closer to 1/50 to 1/120 of a second for proper exposure.
- The two frames you compared weren't the best to compare as you had direct sunlight in one of them which caused flaring and will decrease contrast greatly.

RunCam 5 orange for the win✊️ Im happy with it. Works great, it has a good quality for privat recordings and it is so easy to change some settings with QR codes.

There is a big difference still from the standard and flat. The stills you referenced where, one without lens flare and one with lens flare. Lens flare like that will washout and image and make it loose contrast and detail. Give it another shot with an overcast day or in shadows or with sun behind quad.

FPV volume doesn’t make it quieter, it adds a low pass filter that attenuates the high frequencies on the audio.

Also, using ISO 100 doesn’t increase motion blur, that has to do with the shutter speed. I guess in a roundabout way you’re not wrong because the lower the ISO in auto mode…the shutter speed will automatically reduce to let more light in… but that’s a strange way to explaining what ISO does.

Picking up one of these for an FPV rig for airsoft. It's light enough to attach to my mask and not be felt. And gives good enough image quality for my needs.

I think his was an excellent video because sometimes i dont know how to setup cameras so from there we can set it up and if we dont like something we can always go back in setting and fix it thank u JB.
