I have seen guitarist take a harmony beyond the frets but not like this...this guy is the bomb, everytime he played regarless of which guitar he always gave us that OMG-WTF moment. I have never listen to him or like him but after pandemic i started playing guitar again and learn new stuff so here comes my new teacher looking like a dry up palm tree but swimming across the frets and beyond like a fish in the water...love and respect this guy alot.

Guthrie is a phenomenal musician. Many Gypsy Jazz-Swing Guitarists, use the string area over the guitar hole to achive that spesific effect. Listen to the song: Le Poinconneur des Lilas by Les Doigts De L'homme. At about 3:52. A great example of that technique. Guthrie has studied a lot of genres in music and is capable of bringing out the best because he knows the rules and he knows how to bend or even break them without sacrificing the Harmony or the time measurement. And he is a dedicated Artist, very hard worker and talented. Also a nice guy...that is important too. And he can think...thats a rare virtue.

Ive known guthrie for over 20y, back to when he was a nobody. So I'm not impressed anymore. Except here when he played his strings near the fucking bridge and still was in tune 😂

honestly i dont get it. his tone is piezzo, his action is super low its sound nothing like a decent acoustic guitar. it just makes not sense to me, its like mtv unplugged. his udisputable musicianship aside, this is just plain unplesant.
