What many women fail to acknowledge is, the father is paying his share of child support. When my ex and I split, according to our combined income, child support was figured at 1529.00 a month. I was responsible for just under 1000.00 and hers was just over 529.00, per month. My ex never used any of the money she made towards paying any bills when we were married. After we divorced, I also had to pay her 3k a month for spousal support on top of the child support.

My ex would constantly call me asking for more money. Telling me my son needed school clothes. Each and every time, I would just say, that's what the child support is for. I never gave her a single dime above what the court ordered me to pay. After five years, the spousal support stopped, this is the max it can be collected in my state. At that point, she could no longer afford to live, according to her. She took me back to court to try and get the child support increased. I was already paying the max for my income. Of course, I did have much of my income paid as a bonus under the table. In front of the judge, I reminded the judge and her that what I was paying was only my portion of the child support and asked if my ex was still contributing her portion to my son? The judge then asked her the same? She had no answer. I also informed the court that I was a very good provider and a very good father. My ex interrupted and said yes you are but that's not what we are here for. I then continued and said, if she can't afford to support my child as the custodial parent, I would be happy to take over the responsibility.

I left that day with full custody of my son and I went straight to support enforcement with all legal papers in hand. I received my first 549.00 child support check from her next paycheck. You should have heard the screaming on the phone when she found out I was taking child support from her. I had to hang up. Then it was non stop angry text until I blocked her.

My dad wanted custody of my 3 half siblings when he divorced my stepmom, his lawyer flat out said "I could take your money, but unless you can prove she's unfit in some way custody goes to the mother 90% of the time." He paid 1500 a month in child support. The oldest was literally paying for her college by being an amazing softball player. My dad and I went to one of her games and pulled me aside completely embarrassed to ask me if I could give her some money for tampons bc her mother wouldn't even send her 20 for that. I was of course enraged became even more so when I realized you could see through her cleats. Both of those were mandatory for her in my book. You know what my dads ex was doing??? Going on cruises.

My “mother” (hard to call her that) had tried to do the same shit to my dad. She was promiscuous as hell, would lie about dad every chance she got, would use the child support money for bear and snacks, and would always blame us three for her problems. My mom decided to cheat on our dad when he was on deployment for nine months in the USNavy, bare in mind she too was previously in the Navy. Dad comes home and finds receipts and letters from the banks for items bought by his cards in his name. Keep in mind my dad was on deployment over seas and every possible “chance” he and his buds got they kept away as a plan amongst each other and their wives. Yeah so dad comes home and finds more than just that after all Army green t-shirts are not issued to Navy personal. Even after my dad gave her everything in the divorce, literally everything. She still couldn’t and even to this day doesn’t admit her guilt. Interesting thing is that she had guys upon guys whilst we were all in the apartment. You think your kids are going to be so daft as to NOT see just how stupid you can be.
Parents are akin to gods to their kids.
Don’t think they not notice.

I applaud you for speaking on some serious and sensitive issues in the world today. Freedom of speech has to be allowed for a society to move forward. If we don't communicate, question and/or challenge the issues, they become laws.

I've been through it with that exactly. My baby's mother and I did nothing but fight and she had no problem swinging. I came from an abusive background and my dad and Mom fist fought in front of us. I promised myself I would never hit a woman and so I had to go. You can only be pushed so far before you do something you will regret. That woman and her family told my child I abandoned her while they were living in my grandmother's house. I lived over 3, 000 miles away and had no way of moving as I had just became a felon and was on parole in Ohio. I lived on people's couchs trying to keep a job and pay California's child support which was way higher than if she was in Ohio. Eventually they found out she lived with my family and my family helped her go to college and take care of my baby she stopped going to court and the courts dropped the child support, the courts found out I was also taking care of my child that lived with me. I didn't have a permanent address for many years so getting mail was hard for me sometimes not getting it for months. I have now been married for 15 years to the same lady I had my other two kids with. She still is a problem.
