The best proposals are made with bandanas, not diamonds. John B. (Chase Stokes) and Sarah's (Madelyn Cline) wedding vows in Outer Banks Season 2, Episode 3 are perfectly ✨them✨.

John B: “I give you this sweaty piece of my father’s bandana as a token of my love.”

Sarah: “By the power vested in me, by the sky, the stars, and the sea, I now pronounce us husband and wife.”

John B. “Through sickness and health. Rich and poor. ‘Til death do us part.”

Sarah: “You may kiss your bride.”

The bandana is literally a life saver. Every time John b has the bandana or someone else has it they get saved from death.

I think this was a very sweet way of portraying John b and Sarah’s love. I mean we know this wasn’t an actual marriage and them too, which for me, was totally okay and realistic. For me, this scene was more like a promise/you’re mine typa thing, where the bandana, instead of a promise ring represents the connection and comfort in their relationship. It makes so much sense also, cus that’s exactly what their characters would do.
That’s why John B got so sad when Sara took her bandana off and vice verca, cus that confirmed that they were in a bad place and disconnected from each other... and the bandana is a representation of their stability and love for each other...so yeah I LOVED THIS SCENE.

And Sarah not telling Topper about their “marriage” after he saved her was for me very realistic and understandable. Her telling Topper right there and then would come off as cooky and disrespectful from her side, in my opinion because he just saved her life. I mean we know Topper still has feelings for her.
I get why John B got mad though and I don’t think it was particularly about Sarah not telling Topper about their marriage I think it was more about the FEELING he got from her not telling him. The feeling of insecurity and maybe not being good enough for Sarah, because at the end off the day he’s a pogue and Topper is a kook.
I mean the writers often show the differences between the kooks and the pogues in terms of material things, clothes etc.. and John b getting mad at Sarah gave off that vibe for me, that he just didn’t feel good enough for her in that situation, which I’m not blaming on Sarah because I know that was not her intention. But idk maybe that’s just a stretch or me overthinking the situation? Lol

Either way I rly rly hope they bring up these topics more in s3, especially between Sarah and John b. I want them to have deep, good conversations with each other about their traumas, feelings and everything they’ve been through because that would be realistic after everything they’ve been through together and it would only make their relationship stronger and even more trustworthy than it already is.

K thanks. If u read all the way here hahhaa

Man that hits me in tbe feels. As someone who doesnt invest in expensive things. That strip of banana has more meaning than any ring. That was a part of him he gave to her. I had a bracelet, that my 6 year old niece made me. That i wore till it fell off my wrist 10 years later

The second John b asked her first all I could do was this - 😃 It literally took All my willpower to not Scream 😂 and then she said - Sarah: You know I’ve been thinking.
And I’m like “Yeeaaah?? 😃” I just Knew it was coming!! 😆 I’m so happy they are really dating. 💘💝
