Can anybody stop Wilt Chamberlain in 2024?

The 1962 AllStar Game version of Chamberlain makes it clear to me that he would dominate the NBA today. He's a better athlete than any player in the NBA today. Plus he could really play.

From 3:34 - what did I just see? I have never seen anyone with that kind of timing on a block! Stopped with the defender, and then leaped vertically of two to block it. Amazing.

It’s amazing how clean his defense was. He never fouled out of a game.

Thank you for the mention and for the whole video! The list is very reasonable, I wish we had more Wilt games available but that's still way more than we had a decade ago.

Keep your great work!

Love the video as always but 1965 ECF Game 7 deserved to make it, a 30-30 series the only in the nba, and in that game Wilt was hitting clutch shot after clutch shot both from the field and from the stripe to keep the 76ers alive.

Im sure it was hard to pick 10/20 games when all of these crazy numbers are what Wilt put up on most nights 🎉

▪︎ Wilt Chamberlain's dominance on the court is unparalleled. It's baffling how some younger fans dismiss the legends of the past, thinking only guards can be the G.O.A.T. Wilt's ability to control both ends of the court, his sheer physicality, and his unmatched athleticism make him the greatest player ever. Kareem himself acknowledged Wilt as the G.O.A.T, and that's a testament to Wilt's greatness.

▪︎ The video is fantastic, but I agree that the 1965 ECF Game 7 should have been included. It was a historic game, the only 30-30 series in NBA history, and Wilt's clutch performance was phenomenal. His ability to hit crucial shots from both the field and the free-throw line kept the 76ers in the game.

▪︎ The 1962 NBA All-Star Game is another testament to Wilt's greatness. Scoring 42 points, grabbing 24 rebounds, and shooting 73.9% from the field in an All-Star game is incredible. This version of Wilt would undoubtedly dominate today's NBA. His athleticism and skill set were ahead of his time, and he remains a better athlete than most players in the league today.

▪︎ It's mind-blowing that Wilt used to hold his fadeaway jumper, knowing no one could block his shot. His confidence and skill were unmatched, and it's a joy to watch these highlights in 4K. Wilt Chamberlain's legacy is cemented as the most dominant player in basketball history.

It really amazes me to hear a lot of the young folks talk trash about the players back then. Like the only people that can be goats in the league are guards, the problem with that is that they can't control both ends of the courts, because they are too small, Kareem said Wilt is the goat period!!

Piggybacking on MC's post, in Game 7 of the 1965 Eastern Finals, Chamberlain scored 30 points on 12-15 shooting, he grabbed 32 rebounds, and he scored the last 6 points of the game to pull the 76ers within 1 point with 5 seconds left in the game. Unfortunately, Havlicek stole the inbounds pass and the rest is history. In this hard-fought series, Chamberlain became the only NBA player to average a 30-30 (e.g., 30.1 points, 31.4 rebounds) in a playoff series and he did this against the great Bill Russell.

Wow..Chamberlin, Russell and Cousy playing together! They played well together. I thought Chamberlin wouldn’t have fit in with Celtics. However, I think they actually would have had fun playing together, with Wilt at Center and Russell at Power Forward. There would have been no competition, so it’s better they didn’t play together. But cool to know they would have jelled.

Wilt should be in the goat conversation. Saw him against Kareem would have loved to seen him against Shaq or Hakeem!
