JD Vance: The Weirdest Ideology You've Never Heard Of

preview_player
Показать описание
JD Vance has some deeply weird politics. He's friends with billionaires like Peter Thiel that don't believe in democracy. He's influenced by reactionary bloggers like Curtis Yarvin. He's involved with the new right subculture on X/Twitter.
Now that JD Vance is the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, we need to understand what's going on here. To what extent does Vance subscribe to the ideology of his friends? How much is he beholden to people like Peter Thiel? This is important because in January, Vance may be only separated from the oval office by the health of a 78 year old Donald Trump.

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching. Kind of a different video than I usually make, but it’s been genuinely baffling to me that you haven’t seen big organizations trying to get to the bottom of some of this yet. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it and thanks again.

When an oligarch says the word “democracy” it only applies to the votes which matter which is money. “Democracy” only applies to the voting class (politicians, oligarchs and corporations) and not you or I. So when “democracy” is at risk, it is only the “democracy” which applies to the voting class and not our ceremonial vote. Our votes only exist to give us the illusion of choice.

... This might be the most terrifying thing I've ever heard in my life.

New right? I can tell youve never read a book about Buchanan. If you strip away all the foreign policy, Vance is channeling the old right on every domestic issue. Also, welcome to the algorithm. Good for business to get onto the JD Vance algo. Very smart.

I think your breakdown is weakened by the lack of actual engagement with any of the criticisms informing Yarvin’s and Thiel’s positions. Those didn’t materialise ex nihilo. What is it that makes democracy bad in their view? Sure, it is a big project, but if you believe that reality is on your side when you call them “insane” you should be able to refute them.

Wow this gave me a whole new respect for Vance, sounds based AF. . Darius the Great was right about democracy, it was never a good thing.

you say that like it's a bad thing.

I’m already voting for Trump/Vance you don’t need to sell it to me anymore. Also most of what you said is true except Vance is not a capitalist, he’s a protectionist, believing the American worker and American resources should be protected from foreign industries and corporations. He’s good on most issues aside from him being pro-Israel.

This is unsettling. But this is also the second piece of content I’ve seen today about the views of Theil. I hope it continues to receive more attention with the selection of Vance and the South African oligarchy uniting behind Trump.

I was skeptical about JD Vance, but you’ve just convinced me he’s actually way cooler than I thought

Reminder that if you believe in yarvin EVERYONE in the USA is a left winger, as the american revolution was a civil war in liberalism. Born to communists parents yarvin has done a masterful job at redressing the communist clap arguments such as "everyone who disagrees with me is a evil right winger" into "everyone who disagrees with me is a left winger" bravo yarvin

I'm not thrilled by the economic policy he espoused at the RNC last night. Starting to feel like the democrat party of a few decades ago.

Wouldn’t it be in Trump’sbest interest to select Vance? If he hold an appeal to the “New Right”? Also, he’s young enough to be Trumps successor in a way? To influence political discourse for many years after Trump is gone.
