A lot of us went through this same journey. I grew up in a lower middle-class blue-collar neighborhood. I started working at my father's gas station when I was 13. I joined the Air Force after high school. I became a voracious reader and developed a solid libertarian world view, but always grounded in my blue-collar background. I went to work in technology on the West Coast. About 10 years ago, my views on trade and immigration started to evolve after I really took a hard look at the detrimental impact both "free trade" and open immigration had on working people.

A joy to hear such a calmly authoritative and decent bloke, speaking as a young and bright achiever with a moral compass . That now makes him a cultural asset that ought to shake up the western world .

Great interview. Really rate this man. Im not conservative, but I'm not cynical either and I think JD Vance is a sign of hope that he could be a good politician who will react to reality once in office whilst having a good foundation.
