Thanks man, I appreciate this a lot. I get up at 4am to code for 2 hours in the morning before I go to work as a storeroom manager. I am going to change my job eventually. Already building sites, but still need to learn to code more. Oh and the beard is looking good bro!

Thanks for the encouragement. It's been about 4 months since I left a dead-end job to venture into software development. Sometimes it is tough but I'll get through it

Let's be real. Learning to code is not for everyone. But yes, learning to code can be very lucrative. To be self taught is pretty tough. It typically takes someone who has everything to lose and or a strong intellectual curiosity for how computers work.

I tried to teach myself a few times, but it wasn't till I had separation orders in my hand and my wife was pregnant that enabled me to take it serious enough to get my first job.

Like you it took me from entry level swd making okay money to only a few years later making well into 6 figures.

To anyone else watching this, it is worth it. These are the motivations I had, and I'm sure it can be done with less if you are more focused.

I find your videos great to watch after I put in a long study session.... after 4 hours of the tomato timer when i am feeling accomplished but mentally exhausted, its nice getting some inspiration from a guy thats been there and succeeded. Thanks as always man

Agreed Dorian. Dream it. Build it. That's the most amazing feeling of being a full-stack developer.

Hey Dorian, bro man, god of humility and down to earthness-can you make a video hitting on the topic of developers being in fear of not having work due to no-code and outsourcing to people in 3rd world countries (they took our jobs—southpark lololol)-seriously though, gives me mad anxiety to be learning and busting my brain to potentially never have a chance due to everyone and their mother learning to code and over saturation! Thanks brotha! You the mannnn! ✌🏻❤️💪🏻

a year, massive respect for being straightforward and honest about how much you make. This honesty will payoff in the long run please don't sellout to clickbaiting

Dude what's with the title saying the opposite of what you say in the video. My heart always sinks a little bit when I read these titles.

I'm a network tech working OSI layer 2-3 primarily. Pay's not the issue, The boredom is. I learned programming pre-internet. I thought is was cool, but short-sightedly useless. I've known the benefits of linux open-source for 25 years, so I'll look into it. Thanks for the spark

Mm $5, 000 or $13, 000 a month for being a programmer. 🤔 I think it's better then working a minimum wage jobs and not able to pay bills.

I'll take the $5, 000 a month paycheck over what I get pay now.

I'm confused about why the title is the complete opposite of what you said in the actual video.

I've spent most of my life jumping from careers. Working in private labs as an analyst, teaching science, exploring the police & military jobs, working offshore as a field engineer, working for Amazon, and now working in the NHS training to become a Biomedical Scientist...but I hate it. I'm currently a biomedical support worker, been doing my BMS trainee portfolio, but I've been hating the whole process and I know going for that job will make me miserable. I basically have no life and work lots of weekends and horrible shift hours too. The department is horrible right now and everybody is miserable.

I've had enough, I have the skills and experience to teach myself how to code, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I've started my new path. I think my family and friends think I'm a bit crazy, but I'm more determined than ever to succeed. And that drive. That pure motivational energy I have will help me progress with my coding journey. The future is exciting!

Thank you for sharing.

Love how real and humble you are. Skills can never be taken away. The market may be rough now but it is only temporary. Eventually some positions will open up remain positive. Keep going.

Thank you for the encouragement! I have a part time job and I'm learning to code to make a career out of it. 🤩
It would be cool if you could make a videos talking about all of your streams of income.
Keep up with the good work! 💪🏼
