2019 Nissan Altima - Forget About The Maxima

Nissan pulled out all the stops with their latest Altima. Whether you're looking for the latest in turbo engine technology, loads of standard features, or affordable all-wheel-drive, the Altima has a great deal going for it. Yes, you read that right, AWD is now an option. Unlike other midsized sedans that gave offered AWD, Nissan decided to make it a $1,350 option on any trim including the base model which rivals the Subaru Legacy for AWD base model value. Nissan decided to toss in their latest safety gadgets, CarPlay and Android Auto, and some next generation zero gravity seats for good measure. The result leaves the Maxima in the dust and provides an interesting alternative to the Camry and Accord. Can it beat the Japanese competition? Maybe, depending on what you're looking for.

This is by far the best looking Altima ever. The old ones were perfect for those on a tight budget.

Do not forget about the maxima. The design is so much better. It has so many little touches that make it feel premium. Going back to this video after having it for a month makes me sure I made the right choice. The dealer I bought it from now has another black maxima parked right next to the road!

Finally the new Altima review I am waiting for.

Great video as always. Thank you Alex.

I dunno about forgetting the Maxima. Nothing beats a "naturally aspirated" Nissan V6.

Ironically this car’s infotainment system is better than that of the QX50

At least for the tail lights you can switch them to aftermarket LED bulbs. In fact any bulb in the car that still uses the old-fashioned bulbs can be switched to aftermarket LED bulbs.

The new Altima had to grow on me, but I wish they would’ve kept the V6 and added a panoramic roof like the maxima

i wish auto makers would stop the 'size creep' this altima is basically full sized... certainly as large as full size sedans of past. I've no problem with manufacturers making the interior larger but not everyone wants a yacht sized mid size car.

Thank God Nissan don't have the start and stop on any of their products. I think that technology is not worth the wears and tears on the starter. It will cost you much more money to replace the starter then save few penny on this system. The best auto reviewer as always on YouTube.

i had a 09 Nissan Altima, only issue I had was the catalytic converter, $221 on ebay and I replaced it. I bought it when it had 140k and 2 years later sold it when it had 156k. It was a amazing car. It was also the top model, Leather, Sunroof, Heated Seats, Prefect car, Main reason I sold it was because I was scared the transmission would act up

One thing you missed is that the 2.5 is a new engine, same displacement but mostly new internals. As well as the CVT is a new design. I bought a Platinum AWD and love it. I don't know if the CVT will be better and DID get extended powertrain, just in case. Hopefully don't have to use it. You hear all the stories, but then you hear Hyundai has this problem and Ford has this problem and Toyota had a ton of recalls several years back. Make your own decisions, not what the trolls have to say. At least 70% of powertrain failures are due to lack of maintenance or owner abuse. Bet half the people dissing the CVT haven't even driven one.

Can't believe there's no champagne cooler in the back.

And Kudos to Alex for being genuinely excited about another FWD mid size sedan.

IMO It's a nice car especially having an AWD option

So many choices... for most people. So simple for me. Honda Accord is the only one with manual transmission, so it's Honda Accord for me, although I decided to buy a pickup truck first (of course, manual transmission), so I'll have to delay Accord purchase by a year. People, keep buying manuals, so it doesn't go away when I finally get to buying one.

I can't believe there is no LED brake lights in a top trim model.
