So, make sure it isn't too deep, fill in the hole afterwards, make sure someone is always watching it so no one can fall in, and just generally be careful

In 1995 on Daytona Beach, a kid was in a hole like that.

It was dusk and he was unsupervised. (Looked around 20 years old.
I noticed a van driving straight for him.

His head was above the hole. And he wasn't seeing the van.

I went out and stood in front of the hole and waved the van around the hole.
Behind every hole is a parent who should not have had children.

The best way to dig holes without collapse is with a taper from the top to bottom, then it wont collapse

I dug a 4 foot hole in the big playground sand pit then later I heard some random toddler walked right into the pit and got her foot stuck for 5 minutes
I did not own up cos I was 6 years old at that time
I also had extra help from my younger brother lol
If ur wondering how the hole did not destabilized while we were digging we used wet sand so that it wouldn’t collapse…..until the toddler walked right in

Also doesnt help certain animals depending on location. For example in Florida sea turtles are an endangered species and are protected by federal and state laws. Would be sad if they dont make to to the beach because they’d be trapped

even if your head is above when it collapses the weight of the sand will stop you from being able to breath if it's gone above your chest.

It is fun but these are some reasons why you should not do it

1. As it said it can became a sandpit or whatever

2. People can get injured

3. It keeps baby turtles from getting to the water
