It’s also crazy that by the end of the runway he’s already at 400 knots. That’s practically cruising speed for a lot of passenger aircraft.

Love it. His departure call like 5s after liftoff already at 5k🤣🤣🤣🤣

I remember reading several years ago about a military pilot - probably in an F-16 who had had to land at O'Hare for some reason - weather or something. After refueling, he then got into the queue for takeoff. Sitting at the end of the runway, he was waiting and waiting for his approval to take off, which was not quickly forthcoming as he watched his fuel rapidly diminishing. In frustration, he blurted out to traffic control that he needed to get going and could they possibly clear him to go now! The controller jokingly said, sure, dude, but if only you can be at 6000 feet at the end of the runway. The pilot replied "roger that" and opened the throttle. And, of course he made the 6000 ft. well within the confines of the length of his assigned runway. 😄

I was based at Kunsan AB, Korea in 83. Got a ride in one of our two seaters. We had to divert up to Osan AB and spend the night, so next day (Saturday) we were heading back to Kunsan . The Major in charge of the flight of four of us requested a max performance takeoff and was granted. I was in the second plane. When we going down the runway in full burner we did the exact same thing this pilot did. The acceleration was unbelievable. We popped through a thick cloud cover and leveled off and caught up to number one in a few seconds. The pilot was a super cool guy and let me fly quite a bit. Loops, rolls and he juked through the cloud canyons hollering yee ha! He said this is some job we have isn’t it. This vid took me back 41 years to that day. I loved the Air Force.

Wow in less than 10s he contacted departure and said 5000 climbing to 10000. So awesome! In my Cessna it would take me like 4 to 5 minutes to climb up to 2500 😂

Way too short, would've like to see more of the ride. Thrilling stuff. Thanks.

The acceleration is so quick you feel like your brain is trying to catch up to your body.

The look on his face when he pulled up to a vertical climb.

What I like is he's not taking the awesomeness of an afterburner takeoff for granted even though he's probably done it many times, it still gives him a big time rush !

From the deck to 5000 feet in just over 10 seconds. These guys get to have fun some days.

I have a 1978 Chevette with 84 hp and some torgue...this is probably a similar sensation...
Although I'm not at 500 knots at the end of my driveway, when she gets up to 35 mph going to Walmart it's pretty invigorating ❤️
