That t490, the classes i took the reps were telling me that i needed to put the wetbed down, let it flash and after its dry THAN put my base down.. i did it like that for a year. Well the last few months i actually been putting my wetbed down then quickly puttimg my base down while 490 is still wet. I have have such better results. Everyone i know lets the 490 completely dry before putting base down. Haha that just doesnt make sence to me. You want something for them metallics to land in and be able to flow out. I look at it like a pool, you take a handfull of sand and toss it into the pool its gonna flow out nicely. You take a handful of sand and toss it on dry land, its gonna look like donkey wang. Eh, i dont know sorry for the rant. Awesome work bro

Are you basically doing a control coat at 15psi ( back a little farther large droplet sizes) or are you a little closer and putting a medium might coat?

I used ppg at tafe as you. But its easy stuff to spray. But yep teachers tell ya its all bout getting air pressure right. I dont know once im shown a way to use things good at picking it up quick. We had Sikken in this week for demo, first job came out mint. Cant over think it n loose your confidence.

I use it with T494 T492 modifier T493 and the paint is very even and does not leave sand

I'd like to see you do a gun review on the devillebus plus I spray 50 ft plus yachts for a living and just switch to this gun and love it interested to see what you would think

This will come in handy. I've found it difficult to blend in some of the light silvers in PPG in the past. The 490 trick is definitely a winner

My question. Looks great but how is it a blend when you got new paint on entire door ? If color is off a bit, it won’t match to the back door. And silvers are often the hardest to match. Sometimes even if the exact same color is used it can change in a different brand of reducers or clears. I feel a better door blend by only spraying the front part of the door and blending with a fade, leaving old color on back half to match back door. All sanded in like a 800.

Nicely done - That basecoat blender looked blue when it was going on but in later shots it had dried clear??

These light silver metalics scare me

I've never sprayed PPG but I currently use Axalta. I don't understand the purpose of using a product that needs 3+ coats? 1.5 coats of Axalta put on wet and you're ready to clear. We are in a high production shop and our current manager drops hints of switching to PPG. I don't understand how that would be beneficial. Great tutorial videos by the way.
