Yet, breeders from centuries ago or of present times don't think about what kinds of ill-health mutations to deformities resulting in what they are doing as they are experimenting to achieve their goal to create a distinct new breed within a species?!?

I would think the cat would have problems since it's a mixed breed, but I don't see the problem if they're healthy cats! It's very cute too♡

What people don't seem to get is that it's not necessarily bad to breed together different breeds of cat. It's like how mutts are healthier than purebred dogs, cause bad recessive traits are not as easily expressed as with pure breeding where the gene pool is reduced. It's the same species, just different breeds that we've arbitrarily decided based on looks.

Now I'm not saying that down the line it will get better, in fact as the breed is actually established, it will probably get worse as minskins are bred to each other, but for now, it's not that much of a deal, especially if they don't have major health issues.

How about fostering kittens so you'll always have baby kitties around? Saves lives and prevent mutants with health problems.

Did anyone else think this was more of a commercial advertisement than educational/informative?

One thing bothers me about fog and cat shows is the way I see those judges handling the animals like they were s sack of auto parts. Even those owners and breeders treat them like they are indifferent to their feelings.

It should be against the law to allow breeders to experiment with breeding until they eventually breed the most "unique" cat. What do they do with the cats who don't meet their "standards?"

Don't these cats have health problems if you mix a bunch of breeds together? Also, how has Paul been breeding minskins for 22 years if 1989 was 30 years ago?

Breeding is okay in my book if it is done for the _preservation_ of already existing, naturally-occurring breeds. We shouldn't be "experimenting" on cats though.

There are a lot of people who shouldn't have watched this video making comments as if they are experts or like they have to prove something. But then all they do is leave a dissatisfied comment... No one discussed or linked to another video or an adoption agency or a research paper. No wonder Animal Planet doesn't take its audience seriously.
BTW, if you are being judgmental about breeding, do some serious research first. And then some interviews and some more research. I'm pretty sure that the reason people keep making 'new' animals is for desired aesthetics that don't exist in the many creatures that are already in need. I know it turns into a money scheme and suffering, but everything gets twisted around money. That's why homeless/jobless pet owners, kill-shelters and pounds need more support.

they’re so cute but it’s pretty messed up that humans would do this to other living creatures. we don’t need to “create” new breeds like they’re a trendy new toy or something.
