its okay if the led are not connect in the wires its okay if direct to the connector??

Im confused uk cieling wires is red & black led driver wires are black & white i removed from fitting due to some silly worker fitting a envirovent bathroom extractor fan to a light removed wires cant remember where the black white wires go help

I've just installed a ceiling LED unit. I can't get it to work. The wiring and power switch are working. The LED was a very fiddly unit to build with lots of little screws- quite a poorly designed product. The remote control has power but the light fails to activate. The instructions that came with the light are almost useless. The light is dimmable, controlled by the remote. I'm wondering if the wall switch, which is currently a dimmer switch, should be replaced with a simple on/off switch. Any ideas folks? My patience is wearing thin!
