The PS5 pro got these PC and xbox dudes in a blender....maybe someone should mention that if you are using DLSS on PC in quality mode the native rendering resolution is 960p to output at 1440p. And before you weirdo's say that PC can run this game native....stop it! We are on a game analysis channel, everyone here knows that unless you are on 4080/4090 (so a 2000.00+ pc) you aren't running this game native 4k 60fps with RT. The sad of this community is getting out of hand, the mental gymnastics used to try to downplay technical advances on one platform while giving praise to another is wild!

This game is very heavy even with a high end PC, I have a pretty beefy rtx 4080 and r7 5800x3d and i can't run the game at 4k 60 without heavy use of dlss on performance

The performance mode is equivalent to fidelity mode of base ps5 minus the ray tracing. The fidelity mode is for people who care about ray tracing

Ray Tracing is the coolest feature innovation in awhile. If a game has heavy lighting sections I always enjoy the RT over a high fps. But sometimes I alternate the modes based on the environments

The choice is simple. Two grand for a gaming pc or seven hundred quid for a ps5 pro and scale your graphical expectations accordingly. It’s tech not black magic!

This is exactly what i expected from the pro upgrade, as John said "its more power for devs to do with it what they want'. Cerny just saying "its a marge of quality and performance modes" was really underselling it. Quality mode with more RT or Performance with 120fps are also great options.

Alan Wake 2 still have the best graphic! Let Hardware RT be available on consoles!

I think it’s interesting how “Control” has Ray Tracing on base PS5 but this game doesn’t.

Considering how good this looks it's safe to say that next-gen consoles should be competent at delivering decent RTGI and RT reflections. That's when it will become mainstream, most likely.
At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Funny that everyone are expecting 4k native at 60fps for $700 when an rtx graphics card costs well over that to achieve those numbers, and thats just for the GPU component of a whole pc needed to run it

Waiting to play all of the DLC on the pro at 60fps. The base PS5 performance dropped all the time from 60

“We wanted to make ps5 pro so you didn’t have to choose performance or quality, and improved ray tracing at 60fps”
*Games immediately resort to the exact same 30fps RT and 60fps no RT*

I can’t tell if Remedy is just releasing a quick low effort update or if the ps5 pro is only marginally better for over double the price… these modes sound almost the same as the launch ones just with PSSR and slightly higher base resolutions.

I would’ve expected at least RT shadows on top to justify the low internal resolution for the 30fps mode but nope, just reflections and minor graphical changes still at a low frame rate. The ps5 pro is already bearing out to be an unnecessary mid gen refresh, few games have truly pushed the base ps5, the series S is still the last-gen baseline platform that hampers all cross platform games and then Sony has been releasing very few worthwhile exclusives to take advantage of the base PS5’s power.

Demon’s Souls remake should’ve been the expectation for what AAA games this gen would look like but ever since then we’ve largely just gotten “aaa” cross gen games that look like upscaled Xbox One/PS4 games and then Sony’s cross gen games like God of War Ragnarok which had to be built to run on over 10 year old hardware as a baseline and didn’t really take advantage of ps5’s hardware.

People are hung up on render resolutions to much. It’s like the main selling point (AI upscaling) is going right over peoples heads lol

So if the 7700XT can upscalle the game from 1080p to 4k and still hit 60fps then why the Pro cant do it ? Why is it only 860p to 4k to hit 60fps ? Is the pro limited by the CPU or what ? Because the GPU of the pro is better than a 7700XT

What is the price of a PC that will run Alan Wake 2 at 60 fps or 30 fps RT?
700 $ ? Still no chance.

I could care less about Cerny's quality mode meets performance mode.I hope developers do what Remedy did here, allow a 30 FPS option to try and match the highest visual fidelity available on PC. It didn't really bother me to play this game at 30 FPS on base PS5 so hopefully we continue to get really drastically better quality modes with the Pro

Wait for rhe new high end oled tv next year with a chip that can go up to 160fps… and in combination with the Sony m2 sound set … it’s going to be insane

Maybe PSSR is much more resource demanding than FSR 2/3

Considering I got about 40 fps on a 4090 at 4k. 30 fps is not bad at all.
