Great advice. Also:

Start with a track you really love - gets you in the mood quickly and nerves forgotten.

And...keep the first transition simple & therefore you'll nail it.

Some people call it nerves some call it fear, but what is truly being experienced is the fight or flight syndrome. A simple dump of adrenalin into the body to prepare us to fight off that sabre tooth tiger or run from that woolly mammoth, back in the day obviously lol. Once you realise it's just your bodies natural way to prepare for action the whole situation is easier to handle I feel. You're not nervous you're primed for awesomeness 😉

One of the biggest things for me, even when it just came to busting out some mixes infront of friends/ other dj's was remembering that people can't see your nerves and for the former, they don't have a clue what you are doing and will really enjoy it anyway. :)

I've been into electronic music since 2011, and slowly started getting into production and DJing since 2013. My biggest downfalls have been procrastination, and stage fright. I started getting into DJing more seriously right before the pandemic, and really started wanting to play for a crowd. I still haven't been able to bring myself to go to open decks, or go network. It's so disheartening seeing the scene blow up, and the music I've been collecting blow up in my local area, and not being able to get myself out there :c. Hopefully I can practice more and get my confidence up enough to play in 2024.

Fantastic video, think your the first channel to highlight it I think I've seen, it's very common thing, I remember playing my first set in London on turntables in late 90s. I couldn't hold the tone arm, shaking lol almost scratching classic tune, it shifts after time, once you do few good mixes, confidence levels rise

My first time spinning out, the power went out in the room I was in, then I broke a needle... So after that night, everything else was a breeze lol
