Getting rid of any magnifying mirrors helps too

“While you cannot get rid of sebaceous filaments..” guess I’ll die

Salicylic didn’t help mine. What really helped is Elf’s cleansing balm. I do a double cleanse. Elf balm first. Rinse. Then Cerave cleanser. It has reduced the little filaments by a good 85% over the last few weeks!

I have had those since my teenage. I started using salicylic acid since last year, and I can see the effects. Yes, it does not go away but a lot better. Love Salicylic acid.

These buggers are stubborn for sure. If you have them, you HAVE them

I have that under my chin. I used salicylic acid which did remove some of the uneven texture, but those little bumps are hard to get rid off. Thanks for bringing up this over-looked skin condition.

double cleansing - Castor oil mixed with jojoba - massage for a few minutes (you'll feel the plugs - like tiny grains of rice - coming out) followed with a good foaming cleanser.

Here's exactly what I do if I have a little extra time:
1. Massage a little bit of oil into the skin for 2-3 mins.
2. put a hot (a heat you can tolerate) washcloth on your face and let it sit til it's room temp (doesn't take long).
3. massage the oil in again (you should really start to feel and see the blackheads and sebaceous filaments coming out)
4. use washcloth to gently remove excess oil
5. wash with a foaming cleanser

I’ve always had this in the creases of my nostrils and I’ve been using niacinamide and it’s made them completely go away, made my pores look smaller and made my skin so nice and soft ! I also use a vitamin c serum… both of these have helped my skin feel so much better.

That Indian clay mask will bring EVERYTHING to the surface. Use apple cider vinegar to activate it. But moisturize you skin after😊

I LOOOVEE Paula's choice exfoliant! I'll need to give their retinol a try, I like the Hero one I've been using.

Just to mention, do not mix Salicylic acid and Retinoids

So it's completely normal and natural to have these, and they have a function on our face, but we're supposed to buy products to minimize their appearance?

I use the Haru Haru oil cleanser and it minimizes the appearance of these little suckers in one use. Any oil cleanser should work (recommended by Dr. Dray).

I know Garnier isn't much of a brand but their "3in 1" cleanser/mask always helped my skin a lot, overall i guess it makes sense as it has salicylic acid, clay and zinc.

Or just leave them there they're normal 😊

I have both of these and a pore vacuum is what has truly helped. I only need to use it once every few months now, and after the first 2-3 times, my pores shrank permanently and never expanded back to their original size. Just make sure you steam your skin first, and keep the machine moving. Hydrate after.

Switching to a sulphur face changer worked better at shrinking the visibility of my sebaceous filaments on my nose in a few weeks than salicylic acid did in almost a decade of regular use

THANK YOU FOR THIS. i’ve been wondering for so long why i have those bumps on my chin and why my nose was always full of what i thought were blackheads. i tried to pop them all the time but they just came right back!! so happy i finally got an answer along with ways to lessen their appearance since my skincare doesn’t work on them 😭😭

Since no one has said it. When you use retinoid and SA at the same time, they will deactive/lessen each others effects. So its best to use SA in the morning, retinoid at night. Also SA and retinoid are both strong actives.
