How Medical Hernia Mesh Became A Total Health Disaster

Each year hundreds of thousands of hernia surgeries are performed in the United States and many years ago, a product came out to the market called the “Kugel Mesh Patch.” That hernia patch was a horrific product that was made of a plastic chemical polymer and had a ring around the patch that would break and dislodge in a patient’s skin, abdomen, or intestines. America’s Lawyer Mike Papantonio talks about medical device companies that continue to produce experimental medical devices.

I had a kugel mesh in me for 12 years and almost died 3 times. Now I am on disability due to what it did to me. It rolled up into a pretzel shape inside me and created a hole in my abdomen. I was going to the hospital 8 times a year.

My mother died 1 day after a hernia surgery... 3 months later the autopsy results said she dies of pneumonia... Total lie... They would not have done the surgery or released her with pneumonia!

The amount of ignorance in this comment section is astonishing. It's always the people who know nothing about medicine who wants to talk about medicine.

1. any surgery comes with risks: infection, bleeding, post surgical complications, anesthesia, etc.
2. doctors are not all in on some conspiracy to kill patients
3. you dont know more than doctors

I had a double herina surgery in 1999, I don't think or have shown any problems. Hopefully I stay that way, never want to feel that pain EVER AGAIN!! I was a grown adult crying like a little boy in fetal positions in bed for a long long time before the surgery, until I could no longer be man enough to suck up the pain. No lie. 😩

It's inguinal, not "inigual"...

I had a hernia operation 30 years ago and a mesh was used. I haven't had any problems with it so far. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones...

I had hernia surgery and I don’t know what kind of mesh they used. It is always something.

I've had a hernia mesh in my groin area for over eight years. Other than having to go home with a catheter, which caused pain that no amount of narcotics could numb, for about a week, I've had no trouble with it. Later I got another one in my abdomen, which they told me not to correct because my liver was to messed up. When I finally got a transplant, they fixed that hernia at the same time. This information is not that helpful, because when you have a groin hernia, there really isn't anything you can do but let them put in a mesh or live with it. And you will not want to live with it. But, really really don't let them send you home with a catheter if you can help it. Try to pee in the hospital.

So I had a hernia surgery back in 2011 when I was 18. Sad thing is I have no idea what type of mesh is in there.

this is only a certain type of mesh.
many have been very successful and reliable.
this video is very unclear about the whole picture and the title is terribly worded.
i would even say misleading. poor show TYT. poor show. stop using this clown.

My sister had hernia surgery years ago. She was very young to get a hernia (21 at the time) but did do a lot of lifting heavier things than she should for her work and they used mesh. But she hasn't had any problems since.

What I find funny is that FDA proccess tends to be very long on some drugs and really fast loose with the others...

Mine opened up 2-3 months after the surgery. I thought it was the weightlifting (and still do). But maybe not.

You are a much higher risk of death in a hospital than driving on the highway, using a gun ( OMG!), being black in the slums, even being confronted by a cop! The hospital itself kills more than the above combined
