Zach, you ought to do a short video on how to take certification exams at home. I am wrapping up my degree this month and have taken several exams at home and know the drill quite well. Let me know if you want more information on how it works. I would be delighted to help out your audience and prepare them for home certification exams.

This allows you to take certification exams without having to go into a certification center. I've done proctored certification exams at home before. The key is to have a completely empty desk. Nothing on it and nothing on the walls either that could be thought to help you on the exam. The room doesn't have to be bare, I have bookshelves with lots of books in my home office and they have never been a problem. You'll need a web cam and they will watch you while you take your exam. But you forget about it while testing because you're too wrapped up in the exam. Additionally, you can have a mini whiteboard to use for your exam. It needs to be the size of the whiteboards offered at the exam centers. About the size of a sheet of paper. You have to clean it off when done and show it to the proctor. Calculators are allowed, but not on your phone.

I am excited about this because I can take my CCNA and CCNA CyberOps from home. Plus, I don't have to wait for the testing centers to open. Good news!

To be real.. if you have 0 I.T experience, skip the CCNA, and go for CompTIA A+. Once you have work experience, then go for it. Unless you have a bachelors degree or know someone on the inside. That CCNA will not get you the job you want w/o 8yrs > of experience. It’s how it is.

Are we allowed to use the webcam on our laptop? Or does it have to be a separate one where they can see our entire body?

last i checked the OnVue software (what they require you to install in your computer to take the exam) doesn't support Linux.
