I’ve run a 462 and 572 a good bit equally and I prefer the 572 simply because it’s been trouble free where the 462 hasn’t. I love both but I believe the 572 will be the longer lasting saw.

The 400 is a great saw, period, and when you consider its size and weight, that thing is a beast! Tha said, if you want to spend 462 money, then don't modify the 400. It comes out of the box just right. And so does the 462 for its price point. I think the 400 is a best all-around saw. It's freaking hyper and can handle a 24"/25" but it also screams like howling deamons with a 20", and for its weight it limbs and fells equally well. The 400 is also my go-to. Just for limbing and bucking tiny stuff, something even lighter and fuel efficient is good to keep on hand too.

In another video on you tube I see a 572 beating a 500I.. And here a 400cm beats a 572... lol. A true test is stock vs stock with a perfect log using the same bar and chain on both. I have a 500I and 592xp so it's not like I'm trying to hate one brand here.

This is another excellent video man! I kinda wish I woulda gone with the 400c over my 562xp. I love my 562 but I truly am interested in the 400c especially after having the troubles I have had with my 562. Hmmm my gears are turning 😂

The chain on the 400c was definitely a little better. The 572 didn't wanna self feed. Seemed like the depth gauges needed a stroke or two.
The saws are definitely closer than people want to think. All 3 of them. West coast saws and Egan having the bolt on muffler covers is a real game changer. Hard to find bolt on performance like that for a husky. Sure, it's 'not a fair' comparison but it's how you run your saws and it makes sense to compare them as you run them.

Bar and chain swaps are time consuming and tedious. But this definitely goes to show how a difference in a chain makes more difference than the actual difference in the saw performance itself.

Where did you get the uni filter and velocity stack for the 400c ? Love the video bud

Which one makes more money for the operator is what matters. A second here or there cutting a log dont mean anything if it breaks down or dont start when you need it. Down time is hours not seconds.

Just a firewood guy here. I run an ms250, ms310, and ms441c currently, and the ms400c intrigues me alot. Most of what I cut is oak and under 18", but i get a fair amount 25-32" also. The 441 handles everything I've got with relative ease, but man shes heavy, lol. You think the 400 would be comfortable running a longer bar, like 28-30"? Would the oiler keep up, or is there a high output oiler available?

So what exactly is that filter setup on the 400? Did you say it was a 660 filter? Anyway you can post a link to it.. nice video

Oh man. I love my 400. Sold my 372, but the 500i takes the cake.
I don't love watching guys cut one handed (?) And leaning over the cut having a peek.

a whole ms 400 very tuned
and a 572xp and a 562xp all stock
with different bars and different chains
and people who watch the video still believe
all stock the 572xp is faster than the ms 500i and ms462 and with less fuel consumption
I already tested the 3 stocks
so the ms 400 is impossible to be faster
what a shit video
stock the 562xp is faster than ms 400 stock
Compare them to new factory stock.
so it was a good comparison video

That 400 can’t be stock, I can see it beating the 562 but not the 572, I’ve got a stock 400 and a stock 572 and the 400 can’t compete with the 572,
