When they showed the match preview I said "Well, I know who's winning that.." assuming Vinci winning over Crews. So, the match starting and ending IMMEDIATELY like this surprised the heck out of me. I'm not mad at it. I'm actually a fair bit more invested in seeing his next match than I was this one.
My expectations were definitely subverted.

I seriously don’t understand how wrestling fans still don’t get the business. The Vinci situation actually was a great idea and will make him more over than ever with how pissed the fans are. Relax everyone this isn’t the Vince era anymore. This is the start of something much bigger for him

I loved the Vinci match. I find it ridiculous for people to hate. He was being cocky and overzealous, and he lost in 3 seconds. That's good story telling

With the way he was booted from Imperium, I'm surprised Vinci is still there and wasn't let go during the budget cuts.

Nah I liked the surprise of him getting beat, and my kids both loved it, my kid got mad and my daughter laughed, but they both liked Vinci. You IWC nerds take all of this wayyy too seriously

I totally disagree with y'all. Having like a month the of vignettes of VInci as this big bad new star, setting him it up as a big debut, that long entrance and then get rolled up in seconds is brilliant and funny and got him way more buzz then a match of him winning. Remember when Kiana James won a match? Yeah not many do

The "hatred" for the Vinci debut is probably really just Dave Meltzer taking a guess and likely being wrong.
Losing his debut is fine: he can now get in to a small feud with Apollo Crews and maybe Baron Corbin as well - most of the rest of the roster is busy with their own stuff going on and it gets his debut out there rather than having one of those "coming soon..." debuts that runs on for months until there is somebody available for him to go up against.

Not sure where else to go, so I'll try here. I don't watch RAW and SmackDown live because it's too expensive and too long with all the commercials. I watch it the next day on Hulu, but this past week's SmackDown (Sept 6 2024) isn't uploaded yet and they deleted almost every other episode. It moved to USA but every other RAW episode is still up. Does anybody have any idea what is happening??
