All heat pumps are air conditioners with a reverser valve, fundamentally nothing about being a heat pump would make it cool worse than an equivalent AC.

Haha, resistive ac isn’t a thing… Heat pumps are the only way to cool air. The old cars had ac compressors (heat pumps), they just might have been stronger?

We got the Matrix headlight update here in Australia, and it truly amazes me every time it activates. You can clearly see the effect when it becomes active and it takes a bit to consciously stop your memory muscle from taking over and trying to dim the high beam ('brights' to US users).

The matrix lights work very well. Tesla seems to have gotten this one right first go (Australian driver here).

I mean AC is a heat pump in reverse clearly a tiny bit extra energy use seems likely for 1st seconds but!? I do wonder how it is done in my Nissan in probably under 30 seconds!?!?

In my 2020 model 3 performance, when in track mode you have a button that “overclocks” the AC compressor, allowing it to cool the battery and interior faster. I’m assuming that the heat pump can also be overclocked, which is probably how they improved its performance. Maybe because it’s it’s a new tech, just to be safe they didn’t push the heat pump until long term testing showed its reliability

I just got my Tesla Model YLR in late March of this year. I have not got this latest update yet (have 2024.3.25) . I also have FSD 12.3.6 monthly subscription until the end of this month but I never got the summons features. I have been using FSD everyday and would love to use the summons feature. Tesla advertises summons on the FSD list of features but yet does not make it available??

Our Tesla is two months old and since we got 3 months of FSD we are yet to get this (24 Model Y LR Dual Motor)

I don’t think the climate thing makes any sense. Are you using the max fan speed? I rarely if ever take the auto fan lower than medium. Usually high or if it’s particularly hot bioweapon defense. Feels faster than my other cars, and the one before my MYLR also had a heat pump

The octovalve is in the 2018, just not the heat pump.
