This scene always makes me cry so much because, the whole movie he was so beaten up, mistreated, and neglected by people...as if he never experienced what being loved feels like. So much so that society created a monster out of what was a good hearted man. This scene gets to me because finally that he’s broken, destroyed, and not the same person he was before is when he’s finally seen and admired. He stands with tears in his eyes because this is the first time he’s ever felt loved and it’s for all the wrong reasons. My favorite film.
