Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. I am a single black woman and was looking to have a house built. I went to several builders. One builder company that I went to ignored me and saw several other families before me even though I had a scheduled appointment time. When she finally sat down to meet with me, she kept telling me that the custom things I wanted were too expensive. And she kept trying to end the meeting quickly. When I finally told her my income, her entire tone and demeanor changed. Smh. I said "never mind" and walked out. I ended up getting an even better home built by a different builder who treated me with respect from start to finish.

Good lessons in this treatment. I was in sales for 40 years and if there is any 'golden rule' I lived by it was NEVER judge a buyer by his/her cover (including race or birth place). Well done!

That was satisfying. Sad part is this happens every day. The best part is we don’t have to take it anymore and will continue to call this type of behavior out.

I'm glad people like this are actually getting fired, losing their license and even getting sued! that's the only way to teach them to check their biases

My family went through a situation like this in a small way even though we are not black. My uncle was a millionaire as he was in the concrete business. He came with his family to visit us in Phoenix AZ. We went out in the desert in our trucks but we all wished we had a big 4wheel drive. So on our way home, he seen something he liked and even though we were tired and dirty from playing in the desert all day…we stopped. The salesmen wouldnt give him the time of day. My uncle was upset but he showed restraint and crossed the highway. Where the salesmen gave respect even though we looked awful. My uncle bought two jeeps from this guy. After the sale we drove into the other lot…and honked our horns!! 💪😂👍👍

Great message 🙏🏽 As a real estate broker I can tell you that discrimination also goes the other way when the roles are reversed, some folks will not work with a Realtor of color 😲

I am a black single mom. Had just built my home for my two sons and I. I am in Canada immigrated here 20 years ago. After the house was completed, my sons and I went to the Bricks to buy all brand new furniture, no salesman or woman talked to us. Finally an Indian sales guy came to us and he had just started his shift. We bought furniture worth 15K from this guy…all the others were like ..”oh, ”😳. It’s very bad for people to just assume…then happened again at a car dealership…they actually told me I needed “my husband” so I could be allowed to take the car for a test drive🤦🏾‍♀️

I recently went to a Post Office and the lady working there assumed I was from India...which I am not and she thought I don't understand English. Yes racism still exists.

I was at a car dealership when this old farmer walked in and started looking at a Ford pickup in the showroom. The salesman ignored him for about 10 min. When this old man got his attention and he had to go over and talk to him, you could tell he wasn't happy. The old man asked him a bunch of questions about the trucks engine and drive train, warranties, availability, and color choices. The salesman answered most of the questions, showed all the enthusiasm of a man going to the dentist.About this time the owner of the dealership came in, rushes over to the old farmer, shakes his hand, slaps him on the back and asks if he's being served.needless to say the salesman was stunned.Thats when the owner explains theve done business with this old farmer for 30 years. And this old man owns 3 farms in the area, and rotates out his trucks every 5 years.Long story short, the old man ordered 11 new trucks, writes a check and arranges to pick up the trucks the next week.

I worked for Saks back in the 70s and an elderly black lady came in. She looked like someone's grandmom. She browsed by herself for a while because no one approached her. They thought she really didn't have any money and was just looking. She was in women's dept I worked across the aisle in men's. When someone finally came up to her the lady made a purchase of several thousand. She was buying a new wardrobe for her grand daughter who was going away to school that fall. Everyone that ignored her was sorry. Never judge. BTW they found out that a man that was a frequent customer that came in there wearing Armani suits was stealing them blind😂

When I first started watching this I thought how fake and made up this is, but my husband and I found ourselves in this situation before. The seller of a home here in Wisconsin denied selling to us once he saw black people wanting to buy his property. I'm sure this happens more than not.

I’m from Canada, I have never witnessed this disgusting, vile, repulsive behaviour. I must be living under a rock. Just know, to everyone out there that this happened to I’m sending all of you peace, prosperity, joy, and blessings. YOU GOT THIS!!!🤗

I was Done the moment he disrespected Victoria. First impression is everything! You can't judge a person based on the outer appearance. I know this is a skit but this kind of stuff happens all the time. It pays to treat others the way we want to be treated. Its the golden rule.

In the beginning I was mad like his daughter was, I didn't even want to finish watching this but I'm glad I did, u never know whom a person may be, and you should never judge a book by its cover. GOOD JOB DAD!!!

I got my first credit card at 18. Excited I went into a store to buy my mom a pair of dress shoes. The size needed wasn’t on the floor and the lady headed towards the back to look but she stopped to say very loudly to another worker Watch Her!!! That was my experience as a black young woman. Never judge a person by his/her race. Treat ALL the way you’d like to be treated.

That turned out so great. I’m smiling so big now. That’s what I’m talking about! Own everything, and never tell them, and watch the disrespect that comes when thinking you’re poor or needy. I love it! So powerful!
