3 shrimp is what I eat when mom ask me to taste the recipe while it's almost cooked to check salt and stuff

My brother's girlfriend came crying to me saying that she will never be as skinny and beautiful as the girls on tiktok. It's so heartbreaking.

I'm finna say it one last damn time: LOSING 6 POUNDS IN A WEEK IS NOT HEALTHY. It's also not an easy thing to do in a sustainable fashion.

Man I'm so glad TikTok wasn't around when I was a teenager, I can't even imagine how damaging it would have been for my mental health!

Honestly I kind of got sucked into the whole "eat as little as possible" thing that tiktok promotes. Luckily I only did it for about a month until I started to watch Abbey's videos and realize that it's going to ruin my metabolism, and stunt my growth (I'm 14). I'm very grateful that Abbey brings awareness to these normalized, unhealthy diets.

I am *mostly* recovered from my ED and I had to delete the app because it was catering to my past disordered eating habits/thoughts 😞 I was finding myself getting triggered just like the pro ana tumblr days. Super proud of myself for deleting the app instead of feeding into my demons more.

If I got a salad with only three shrimp on it, I would feel like I got swindled

As someone with a history of ED, I had to delete TikTok due to the algorithm only showing me ED promoting content. Definitely effective me negatively before I realized the cause and deleted the app.

I swear energy drinks are going to be the next generation's smoking. I don't know any kids that DON'T drink them.

I fell for one of these "diets" last year, eating like 800 calories a day and doing a minimum of 15, 000 steps. I thought that because I was doing fish, whole grains, protein and tons of veggies, kale, spinach etc it was "healthy". I dropped a ton of weight and was exhausted, dizzy and grumpy the whole time, so I started adding tons of caffeine/energy drinks. Very bad idea, ended up anemic with vitamin deficiencies and hair falling out. I'm still recovering from it 7 months later.

Literally so good hearing you say “I would add” over and over again. And it’s sounds good a nutritious. Taking something triggering and covering it up in a rainbow of sustainability

lockdown and tiktok was such a bad combination. the pandemic itself damaged so many people’s body image and relationships with food, but with tiktok it just has been growing even more. i had to delete the app because i was getting these videos everyday even when not interacting.

Growing up, my parents never let me have any sort of energy drink. Now I’m glad they made that choice.

Some of the diets I’ve seen on TikTok are so insane! There is a woman who is fasting for 42 days while feeding her kids only a keto diet. I’ve seen others that don’t eat at all or eat insane amounts. I usually just report them to TikTok or say not interested.

3 shrimps is part of my child’s meal when she was 1. 3 shrimps + butter rice + lots of carrots. that’s her on a not-so-hungry day. she was 13 months old 😂

Tiktok gives me flashbacks of growing up in Korea, you can’t have foods you enjoy at all, you’re not eating much bc you’re always on some “diet” and no one is there to correct you because everyone condones it... people stick to their ed triggering and enabling communities and that just causes them to spiral even further. It’s terrifying how hard it is to see your ED coming when you surround yourself with the wrong people online.

On the other side of tiktok, people thinking eating large amounts of very very unhealthy foods as a staple is.. relatable? Cute?

I feel like you’re actually out there fighting for girls. Their mental and physical well being and their confidence. Keep going strong Abbey.

God--I wish I had heard this video when I was a teenager. What Abbey is saying around the 15 minute mark is so true. I was overweight as a kid and teen and was put on every type of extreme, calorie restricted diet by my mom, which then set me up for a lifetime of restriction and binge eating. Finally in my 30s I got a handle on things but this message is SO important to young people who are developing their own eating habits and food choices.
