Drone Flying High Above Clouds

Flying my Mavic pro by DJI over 12,300 feet in elevation over the clouds. I was so happy tp finally get a legal flight over the clouds. Since i moved to Colorado i have been hoping for a good low laying cloud day to capture something like this.

On this day i was driving up to Loveland pass and just happened to be lucky enough to have my drone with me in the car. When we got to the top of the continental divide i launched my Mavic pro in what seemed like a bunch of fog. As soon as i got about 100 feet up the fog cleared and i saw nothing but mountains as far as i could see in every direction.

The highest i ever got from take off point was give or take about 350 feet. This flight is 100% legally done above the clouds!

Please take a minute to share this video on your favorite drone forums and facebook groups. Click like and leave a comment letting me know what you think of the footage.

I am still stoked i was lucky enough to capture something so beautiful and the fact that i was over one set of clouds while still under another set still blows my mind.

Thanks again for watching.

Beautiful footage! In the mid 90's when I lived in Fraser, CO it felt like being on a post card. That's the feeling I get from this video.

Excellent scenery and footage Sean. You were really lucky that the ice on the props that it didn’t bring your Mavic crashing back to the ground 😎

Great Stuff. I love how you used the sunlight to light up the mountains and clouds. I fly up at these altitudes in Taiwan.

Beautiful footage Sean! I do miss Colorado, but 9 years of the cold was enough for me. Summers are just too short. But I digress; beautiful footage and though your fall is mostly over, maybe next year you can get some stunning footage of the Aspens when they turn; both above, and taking your time flying through a grove? Ha!...not with my current piloting skills.

Hi Sean, that was stunning mate, absolutely stunning. I for one would love to see more like it....bet you could sell some of the prints at the end as posters “for the cookie jar” if that’s the right phrase? It would pay for the fuel for the car at any rate! Bet you’re glad you moved now 👍 Take care and safe flying. Peter.
