It is a rough procedure & I was in hospital for a month due to complications. You do improve over time though. It can take up to 8 weeks for your taste buds to return, & eating regular sized meals again was a similar time frame for me.

You can't rush it & it's key not to give yourself a hard time over your temporary limitations. I'm returning to work tomorrow & it's been nearly 3 months since my op. It's saved my life though.

I had the Whipple surgery one year ago and the healing process was much worse than the surgery
