This was one of the better paced fight scenes in the entire franchise.

I really love how the villagers are trying their best to take down Scorponock as well, teamwork makes the dream work.

I love how it’s exactly what it looks like to these villagers, a bunch of armed foreign soldiers running away from a giant scorpion, and they’re still down to fight.

In all seriousness, the military accuracy of this seen was pretty spot on. And not just the small things like trigger discipline and the type of speech pattern they were using, but the attention to detail down to how an actual Special Ops unit operates is amazing.

Epps (Tyrese Gibson) is a USAF CCT, attached to the US Army Ranger unit. And in the scene where Lennox threw the phone over to Epps to coordinate air support instead of calling it himself was extremely accurate, because CCTs are the liaisons for special air tasks and other needs the element requires.

So well done Michael Bay, for not just creating a movie that's all about explosions and actually stayed true to the troops you are depicting!

2:03 - For the scene where Scorponok bursts out of the sand right on the heels of the soldiers, the effect was achieved by detonating a primer cord under the sand. The explosions would be in close proximity, and very dangerous to the actors in the scene, so before the scene was shot, Michael Bay told the actors to run and keep running no matter what happens, or else they could seriously be injured or, even worse, killed. As a result, the look of panic on the actors' faces as they flee from Scorponok in this scene, is one hundred percent genuine.

4:30 - The total confusion + dread that kicks in when they see scorponok "What is that" "i don't know".... it's that feeling of total fear of the unknown and being totally outgunned that made Transformers 1 so genuinely captivating and powerful

This is what Tranformers was when it was good

- Action you can see and is awesome.
- Humor that is actually funny.
- People you actually gave a shit about.

It wasn't until later that the Decepticons realized the humans were trying to kill a spider that Scorponok was also shooting at. Any casualties were simple friendly fire.

Props to the villagers. From their perspective, a literal demon emerged from the ground and soldiers from a more technologically advanced army are fleeing in terror.

Their response? Shoot the beast.

Finally got a friend to translate this scene on 1:25. "I don't know dude, but it almost ripped me a new one." Thought I'd share it for the curious.

this is what I love about the first one, the transformers were so formidable. it took a spec ops team, middle east fighters, 2 a-10 warthogs, and 105 saber rounds from the ac-130. still all that and they only took its tail off and made it retreat.

4:14"I DON'T KNOW, MAN! IS YOU SEEING THIS SH!T?"
Epps is for real the most underrated Transformers character

The first film got it right, these military guys should have been part of the other flicks instead of Shia and Megan Fox.

2:02 That’s a hell of a shot. The first film really brought the terror of the Decepticons
