In the novel they never actually go into detail as to how exactly Victor built the monster. He just says that he was gonna build it and then literally five lines later there's a time skip to when the monster wakes up. My personal theory is that when Mary Shelley was writing this scene she just spaced out trying to come up with a somewhat scientifically plausible way for that to happen...but then realised there was none. But then she realised that it could work out as Victor not wanting for another monster to ever be created ever again so it all worked out in the end.

In 2006 or 7 or so, my friend lost his harm, being hit by a car crossing the street. The cut was so clean they were able to reattach it. He has full use of fingers, just lacks grip strength and range of motion with elbow. Doesn’t work well, but it works.
