Jonah 4 • Honest Condition of the Heart // Women of the Word Bible Study

The final chapter of Jonah is all about emotional responses. We see that Jonah tended to be happy about things that improved his circumstances or comfort and angry about things that didn’t. In this final section of the book, God seemed to want Jonah to realize how self-serving his attitude really was. Perhaps God will show us our own self-serving attitudes as well.

I would just like to share with you brothers and sisters. It is so amazing that every time I trust that God will speak to me through His word, I flip to the exact passage I needed or was wondering about. He is our teacher and He will never fail us. Even if we are brought a passage that is random, we can trust that God is using it for good. When I first started reading I prayed for wisdom and the first book I opened to was Proverbs (obliviously). So yeah just wanted to share that testimony and encourage you guys about how real God is and how great a teacher He can be for us if we simply just trust in Jesus!
