Speaker: Josiah Ruff

"The 5 most common regrets of the dying were:
Number 1: I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
Number 2: I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
Number 3: I wish I had the courage to express my feelings.
Number 4: I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

*_Don’t waste your time in anger, regrets, worries, and grudges. Life is too short to be unhappy. That's why i took the risk to follow my passion in making youtube videos_*

*Biggest anxiety comes on a death bed, because of unrealised potential.*
It's better to feel pain now and achieve, than suffer throughout the life dreaming about what could’ve been.

*_One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being yourself_*

I am 65. From 35 to 65 .... 30 years I wonder what happened? Opportunities I have let go unnoticed ... because I was so inwardly focused. Opportunities to spend time with loved ones, travel, expand my career, invest... poof. All gone never to return. I have done a few good things recently that will change that. Now to push the gear into lever and try and make it to 95 ... and make 30 glorious years. If I don’t make the 30 I will go out in a positive frame of mind.

I actually think that from the kids of now the biggest regret would be:
-I wished I didn't wasted too much time comparing myself to other in social media and on mobile games.

The best way to avoid regrets during dying is to have a meaningful life. Not that life which starts from us and ends with us, but a life which embraces all good around us and leaves inspiration to millions after we leave this world.

If you live like they wished they had I can tell you it's hard going and you will be punished and rejected beat on even hated
you won't be successful and chances are you won't have people loving you.

But you will be free.

And that is priceless.

Much love

I had near death experience about 7 years ago and i felt from that, that it is the small moments that matters! Like spend some time with your family, do everything with your heart 😊❤

I'm 25. When i was in high school, i would sit in the library researching college and what an amazing thing it would be to study the Classics and linguistics. I was told by my mother she would not finance my college or help pay for it. Growing up in rural Mississippi, even though parents made great money, the thought of being told to relegate my life to welding for a scholarship was unsettling. But thats all she was willing to help finance.

Today, I travel across the United States for well over what some mid-career software engineers make, but despite all the money, I regret never finding a way to chase my dream. Monsy will not give you happiness. Take it from someone who once thought it was the key to my personal fulfillment.

Don't let your parents dictate your life or listen to what they think will bring you fulfillment. If you know what your passion is, and you happen to be one of the few who knows your calling, let nothing stop you.

Do not let relationships or other connections relegate you to a life of misery. Fail, try again, fail, then you will approach success. But dont let life pass you by always wishing you could do the thing you loved most. If you find sometime later that what you wanted wasnt, indeed, for you, at least thats part of your life you will not regret. If you never try for that goal, you will eternally regret not knowing if you would enjoy it or not.

Lead a life of action and take calculated risks. Life is too short to think about missed opportunities.

Number one covers all my regrets. Not having the courage to follow my instinct, live my dreams out of loyalty to others or feelings of guilt. Now alas it is too late for me. I say to all you younger people: have the courage and confidence to follow your own path and become what you dream of, don't let anyone stop you. When the time comes for you to die you will regret not the things you did but the things you didn't do.That is so, so true !

I’m still 15 and all I WANT is to let my parents understand what I REALLY WANT IN MY LIFE. That they can’t control my choices because this is my life. One day, I’m gonna have the courage to do it. Praying for everyone also!! 🙏🏻

My mantras:

Don't work too much

Take career risks

Push your career to align with your purpose

Don't mute your own personality

Be authentic and independent

Believe in yourself

Don't take life too seriously

Don't let good friendships die

Choose happiness

Remain positive always

Share how you feel

Be emotionally vulnerable

Be bravely honest and forthcoming

Listen better to people

Spontaneously give to others

Respect and value every individual

Resolve conflicts immediately

Travel often

Stay fit and active

Jot down moments that make you smile

Communicate with your parents

Avoid becoming comfortable

Say 'yes' to new experiences

Be playful and light-hearted

I’ve seen and experienced too much death in my life and one thing I’ve learnt is that the only thing that matters is the people you love and care about.

Money and material things aren’t important.

My dad had bowel cancer, and even though he was seriously Ill and taking the horrendous medication and felt tired, exhausted and ill all the time he drove the 30 minute drive everyday to be with my mum who had had a stroke and was in a nursing home.

He never complained about his suffering.

He did this everyday for 11 years until the day he eventually died.
