Public insurance adjusters work on behalf of someone who has filed an insurance claim to make sure that person receives the full amount that they are owed. The most successful public adjusters are critical thinkers and skilled communicators, both in person and in writing. Most adjusting cases also require at least some basic financial accounting. Most importantly, public adjusters must be skilled observers, capable of analyzing damages and drawing financial conclusions from the details of a case.

08:50 Important instructions to be successful claim adjuster

I am as amazed as you are! Happy to have been able to meet this Allstate Adjuster.

His training class had 6 people in it that didn't have a license. He currently works directly with Allstate. Not for Pilot or another 3 party service.

His duty with Allstate includes a rental car paid for by Allstate. His daughter gets to stay with him while he's out in the field and away from home. He works 10 days and then gets 4 days off.

State Farm CAT adjusters work 7 days, 12 hours a day (sometimes 6 days, 12 hours/day). It's grueling; trust me I've been a claims adjuster for a while.

Now, if you already have your license do not feel like you've made a big mistake. The adjuster I spoke to also had his license. It took him 3 attempts at the test to be able to pass.

He didn't quit.

Unfortunately, many test-takers feel like all is lost when they get defeated by the exam on the first attempt. You've heard in my adjuster videos that I too failed the GA property and casualty exam my first attempt.

But, I went back to studying. I focused hard and built my confidence.

You must do it too.

That's all you need to do too. Especially, if you don't have customer service experience. Yes, with CS experience those 6 adjusters made it in at Allstate.

Here's something I didn't mention in the video, that adjusters will either:

1. work under the Allstate licenses - which means when they leave they'll have to get their own license. This happens a lot with State Farm adjusters.

2. The team at Allstate will assist them in taking and passing the exam. In this scenario, those claims adjusters may still lose their license if they leave the company. Or they may be able to keep it.

What experience did the 6 guys have that allowed them to not have a license. I've been building houses with my ol man for years to the shingles recently got into hvac for the past year. Because of my knowledge of homes already would that make me as qualified?

Ebahi, if you could help me. Please. So I’m licensed in 5 states and was offered immediate deployment with a company. I needed 2 days to get things in order. When I called back it was like everything has dried up. I’m so bummed out and was excited for finally getting an opportunity to deploy. I’ve made many calls to the major companies inquiring about field deployment. Please help. What can I do at this point
