HomePod Mini one year later – 7 Reasons its still a great smart speaker for your HomeKit home

Apple introduced the HomePod mini to the surprise of lots of people and 1 year to this day, it started shipping to consumers. Then at Apples Unleashed event the company announced new colours for the HomePod, but no new hardware.

Between that time Apple has introduced new software as iOS 15 and the variant that runs on the HomePod mini. While we have seen no new HomePod hardware this year. Apple has delivered new features in the software updates that have brought some improvements.

So the question is is the HomePod mini still a worthwhile investment one year on and this is my 7 reasons why.

I hope Apple bring back HomePod as it is vastly superior to the HomePod mini in every way I have a HomePod mini and a HomePod but I always use the HomePod all the time for sound quality and run in the house

These days reports are that a new HomePod mini could be released late this year or early '24
Great job with this video. The privacy feature is so underrated. I don't think Apple users understand how much value Apple has placed on protecting the privacy of customers.

Hello. I am new to your Chanel, so firstly I just want to say the production quality is excellent and I am enjoying your videos allot.

I am about to begin setting up a smart home and debating a home pod mini (or two) to start with. Would you say the sound from two minis would be comparable to a dedicated sound bar. Such as the Sonos beam 2. Or would the Sonos be in a different league all together?

Currently looking at changing my light switches and finding it hard as options for UK and Ireland seem to be limited with switches. Are our light switches different to mainland European ones like our wall sockets?

What I want to know is how to get my bedroom homepod to let go of my wife's iphone. We play white noise through the homepod at night and, when my wife gets up in the morning, she likes to listen to podcasts in the bathroom while she gets ready. Since I'm still asleep, she shutst he door and everything's fine. Except now, when she turns on her podcast, it's automatically linked to the homepod and she can't get the homepod to "let go" of her phone. There doesn't seem to be any way to sever that connection so her iphone plays the podcast through it's own speakers unless I take over the homepod and play something on it from my phone. Any ideas how to fixt that?

I hate HomePod mini, most of times it can’t hear what I asking for. Other smart speakers in same location don’t have this issues. Or something like I am having troubles connection to the internet. Again, just HomePod has this issue. I bought them for thread support, but better I will keep Apple tv4k like hub and any other smart speaker. Siri is dumbest assistant

IOS 15 is junk, i been having slow response on homepod mini, slow scenes execution so not so sure homepod mini is so good. I don't have the same issue on my iphone or ipad pro.
